Newburyport Choral Society Spring Concert features ANNILIES by James Whitbourn

Join Newburyport Choral Society under the direction of Dr. George Case, the NCS Spring Concert in May will offer audiences an exciting program featuring James Whitbourn’s powerful oratorio Annelies, the only musical setting based on the story of Anne Frank. The Newburyport Choral Society’s Spring Concert will feature British composer James Whitbourn’s powerful oratorio Annelies, the only musical setting based on the story of Anne Frank during the Holocaust. Commissioned and premiered in 2005 by the Jewish Music Institute, librettist Melanie Challenger has crafted Anne Frank’s story into a dramatic and emotional journey for the singers and the audience, alike.

Hit the Street for Little Feet Family Fitness Festival

Hit the Street for Little Feet is sponsored by the Manchester Memorial PTO.

The Manchester Memorial PTO is gearing up for the annual "Hit the Street for Little Feet" 5K Road Race, 1M Fun Run and Family Fitness Festival. The 5k race route which goes throughout picturesque Manchester-by-the-Sea will precede the 1-mile Fun Run. Following the races, participants are invited to enjoy a community celebration with fun fitness challenges, obstacle courses, sport specific challenges, local food carts, vendors and more.

Meet the Lambs Day at Green Meadows Farm

Green Meadows Farm invites families to Meet the Lambs Day!

You do not have access to view this node invites families to meet their volunteer workers at the farm - the lambs! They don't get paid for what they do, but they do lots of work at GMF. They arrived a couple weeks ago and have been dutifully eating the winter rye in the front field. Converting plant material into manure just where we need it is an invaluable job. They also happen to be terribly cute, so that helps. Come and meet them officially during Meet the Lambs Day. There will be a craft in the Farmstand and Mrs. Green will be on hand to talk about the sheepies out in the field.

Performers are past or current recipients of an Artist Fellowship or Traditional Arts Apprenticeship, prestigious awards from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. Come experience a Dominican carnival procession, then be enthralled by leading exponents of South Indian vocals, violin, and percussion, West African balafon (xylophone), djembe drum, and ceremonial dance, and Irish flute, uilleann pipe and old style step dance.
