For 42 years there has been the Art on Bartlet Mall painting show the first weekend of Yankee Homecoming. This year 60 artists again will be showing all media of work including a few hand-pulled printing artists. The artists are from Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, and even New Jersey. There are award winners in over half of the participants.
Get ready for Paint Night excitement at the historic Salisbury Beach Pavilion, home to the beautifully preserved antique Looff-Mangels carousel. Limited tickets are available for this event, so be sure to grab yours soon! Your ticket includes all supplies and instruction. Each canvas has a pre-drawn stencil, perfect for artists of all ages and skill levels. Our canvas is 11”x14”, and all colors of paint will be available, allowing for endless creative possibilities. For ages 6 and up.
On the last weekend of July, artisans and fine craftsfolk from all over New England will show and sell their work on the South Village Green in Ipswich, MA. Olde Ipswich Days is a favorite for all to meet and greet old friends and new, browse the booths and do some early holiday shopping, or make some timely indulgences. The fair features the works of more than 60 artists and crafters. Look for sterling, gold, or beaded jewelry, unusual photography, woodwork, knitted textiles, dried flowers and grapevines, cut or stained glass, tapestry, a variety of pottery, and paintings in all mediums, toys, and handmade soaps, and hot dogs and refreshments.

This highly esteemed festival showcases a diverse range of artistic expressions that include: painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, printmaking, photography, crafts, plein aire painting, senior art, student art, and youth art. Alongside the art exhibits, there are numerous family-oriented festivities, events, and activities that aim to captivate and entertain both children and adults alike.
Join local award winning wire artist Ryan Kelley for a wire tree art class at The Salisbury Beach Carousel! Ryan will teach you how to create a wire tree in any style you want on an adult closed fist sized rock you provide during this two hour class! Ticket includes all of the tools and materials needed for you to create your own wire tree sculpture!
This free, hands-on, community art experience is primarily geared toward children under 10 years of age and children must be accompanied by an adult. The line-up of projects this year include play-dough making, decorative wands, creating musical instruments, and Doodle Top drawing which captures a “playful art” theme for a celebration packed with fun.
Art in the Barn is recognized as one of the North Shore’s premier art events, featuring the most talented artists in the region. An annual event for over 30 years, the show normally takes place at Greenbelt's headquarters, Cox Reservation in Essex, and this year we will bring the fine art paintings, pottery, jewelry, sculpture and photography online. Artists generously donate 50% of their sales to support the land conservation mission of Essex County Greenbelt Association.
