ECTA is holding its 6th Annual Thanks for the Trails 5k and Kids Fun Run the Saturday after Thanksgiving at Patton Park in Hamilton (November 25, 2023). The Kids' Run will begin at 9:30AM and the 5k will start at 10AM. Using a scenic and challenging course and offering great prizes, this will be an event for all! Super prizes for top finishers, and many other terrific prizes!

Cool weather Fall running is back! This year the Winner's Circle Running Club has moved our annual 5K to Salisbury! It will be run Thanksgiving morning November 23rd. Registration opens at 7:00 a.m. and the race starts promptly at 8:30. We feature runner and family friendly trails and post race refreshments. Our new course which is primarily on a rail trail offers a fast and flat but scenic course! Pre-register to lock in the lowest rates! Race day registration will be available at $35.

The Annual Essex Fire Department Company Spaghetti Supper is A great night to enjoy a home-cooked meal with neighbors and friends while supporting a great cause! The town’s volunteer firefighters put out quite a spread of all-you-can-eat homemade spaghetti and meatballs accompanied by salad, beverage and dessert. Everyone welcome! Donations accepted at the door. Winter boots and coats will be collected to help those in need. Your generosity will be greatly appreciated.
The BevRec will be hosting a Holiday Toy Drive at Lynch Park to benefit the great work that Beverly Bootstraps does for our community. After you’ve wrapped up a day of delicious food and giving thanks…not to mention the shopping…it is time to pay it forward.
Join the Newburyport Education Foundation for their Lighthouse Auction to raise funds that will go to enhance the quality of public education in the Newburyport School District. This auction is the biggest fundraiser of the year for NEF, raising over $100,000! This years' auction proceeds will go to the District-Wide STEM Initiative (Phase 2 &3) at the Molin Upper Elementary, Nock Middle School, and Newburyport High School
Come see over 100 locally and professionally made gingerbread creations on display at the historic Jeremiah Lee Mansion in Marblehead, MA during this year's Marblehead Christmas Walk. Community members, businesses, and families are building and donating dozens of gingerbread houses, boats and local buildings that will be on display and available for raffle throughout the weekend. The Marblehead Rotary hosts the Marblehead 5K for Mental Health! Marblehead Rotary club is providing Marblehead schools with a daily mindfulness program called Inner Explorer, a nonprofit, that has developed a series of audio guided practices used in over 7000 schools. The program is simple and delivers measurable results. Inner Explorer’s mission is to make the daily practice of mindfulness, approachable and accessible for school communities and to equip educators, students and their families with valuable life skills that foster human potential.
