The Polar Express Annual Holiday event was initially created to support the Isabella Rose Marino Endowment Fund, established in 2002 in honor of Bella Marino, who passed away at the age of four from a rare blood disorder.

Celebrate the fish city’s recognizably salty character with local cultural institutions and businesses during the 3rd Annual Gloucester’s So Salty festival on January 20 and 21, 2024 from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm! Over 1,800 people came out last year to share their salty pride while enjoying free ice sculptures and cultural activities around Downtown Gloucester.

Bring your own shells and beach treasures and we will provide the craft supplies and inspiration!
Decorate your door with a gorgeous holiday wreath created from a variety of evergreen boughs foraged from our historic farm property. Join us December 9th or 10th in the barn where we will guide you in designing and decorating your wreath with a variety of natural materials such as berries, pine cones, and dried forage. We will provide a 12” wreath frame, wire, evergreens, decorating materials, garden shears and work gloves; you will bring your creativity!
Join us at the Essex Historical Society & Shipbuilding Museum as Susie Talbot guides the group through decorating a 20" wreath. Susie is an extraordinarily talented individual who not only designed, but takes care of our front gardens. Amongst her many talents is decorating Holiday greens.
The Ipswich Public Library Children’s Room invites you to a Polar Express-themed family holiday party on Saturday, December 2 from 10 a.m. to noon. No registration is required. Refreshments will be served.
The Marblehead Festival of Arts invites families to their holiday arts-and-crafts show at Marblehead Arts Association the first weekend in December. The market place is held in conjunction with the Marblehead Chamber of Commerce Marblehead Christmas Walk, a town-wide event. Each year the market place has many local and regional artists who bring their arts and products to Abbot Hall. And don't miss a performance by 'The Shooting Stars' on Sunday at 1pm!

Come see over 100 locally and professionally made gingerbread creations on display at the historic Jeremiah Lee Mansion in Marblehead, MA during this year's Marblehead Christmas Walk. Community members, businesses, and families are building and donating dozens of gingerbread houses, boats and local buildings that will be on display and available for raffle throughout the weekend.
