Earth's Moon: How it Came to Be and Why We Have Solar and Lunar Eclipses. In this 30 minute presentation, with North Shore Amateur Astronomy Club (NSAAC) Star Party Coordinator, Brewster LaMacchia, we'll start with a look at the event 4.5 billion years ago, referred to as the Big Splat, that led to the formation of Earth's moon. Using a variety of simple models we'll develop an intuitive understanding about the moon's orbit around Earth, moon phases, and what it takes for eclipses to happen. After the presentation we'll head outside to look through telescopes provided by volunteers from the NSAAC.

The Hamilton-Wenham Public Library invites kids to get creative and have some fun! Join Ms. Eva of Early Childhood Partners for a themed story and activities that practice process art methods. The Process Art Workshop is designed for children ages 2 - 6 years old and their adult. Older children are welcome. This class will be held on Wednesdays from 6:00 - 7:00pm from APR 3-JUN 5 (no group on 4/17). Process Art Workshop will take place in the Children's Program Room. No registration needed.

Read to Keeva the Therapy Dog! Keeva and her trainer, Ms. Fleming, visit the library to help children practice reading! Therapy dogs provide a calm and non-judgemental environment that's perfect for practicing read-aloud skills. Open to children in Grades K - 3. Registration is required. Come to a Cape Ann Vernal Pond Team presentation on snakes, exotic and local, at the TOHP Burnham Public Library. Kids will learn all about the habitat and lives of snakes from New England and beyond from Rick Roth, Executive Director of the Cape Ann Vernal Pond Team.
