Essex County Greenbelt Association will host the annual road cycle event to raise funds for conservation efforts on the North Shore! Cycling enthusiasts of all abilities can ride through some of Essex County’s most beautiful landscapes in this annual road cycle event to benefit local land conservation. Whether a seasoned road cyclist or a beginner, you can enjoy at your own pace one of three routes offered by Tour de Greenbelt: a 50 mile ride, a shorter route (25 miles), and Gravel Grinder Routes (40 mile and 28 mile), with off-road excursions into protected forests and reservations.
The North Shore of Massachusetts has some of the most fertile soil in the United States and the farms of the region produce wonderful produce and other foods that you can buy directly at the farm, or it comes to you via a local Farmer's Market. Farmer's markets aren't just a place to get your favorite local seasonal foods, it s a community! The markets vary from town to town, and in addtion to the farm goods, you'll enjoy live music, craft and other vendors, and some even have activities to keep the kids busy while you shop!
Come explore what nature has in store at some of our most amazing wild places on the North Shore. Joppa Flats' engaging and experienced staff will introduce families to local beaches, forests, and wetlands to make observations in nature, identify wildlife, and enjoy hands on science activities outdoors. The Rowley Farmers Market is an open air market held on Sundays on the Rowley Town Common. There's always a great selection of fresh local produce, food stuffs and locally hand-made goods. Come pick up some great locally grown food, freshly baked bread by Faith Anne's Unique bread, specialty teas and herbals by Dawn's Herbal, locally made yarn from Spin a Yarn Farms, locally made maple syrup and honey from local bee keepers.
The Rowley Board of Selectmen and VFW Post 5707 will host a ceremony observing Memorial Day at Town Common in Rowley Massaschusetts. There will be a speaker and a flag raising ceremony, and a singing of the national anthem on the Town Common. Prior to the ceremony, a Memorial Day parade will begin at PGS and continue to the to the common. Participants and attendees are encourages to wear red, shite and blue. Students are also welcome to wear their girl or boy scout uniforms, or their sports uniforms.
Join us for Goats & Giggles on the library lawn from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 20th! Chip-In Farm & Farmers Helpers will be here all the way from Bedford, MA, with some of their new baby goats who were just born this Spring. You can pet them, cuddle them, and maybe even feed them!

What is a Cookie Walk? This is a fundraiser where we sell homemade cookies by the tin. We ask enthusiastic bakers donate batches of their favorite Holiday cookies (about 3 dozen) to donate for the walk. The day of the cookie walk a festively decorated community room at the library awaits you with large platters of donated cookies. Shoppers choose one of two decorative tins (3 inches tall for $15, 4 inches tall for $20) and walk around the tables and fill their cookie tins. Get a huge variety of holiday cookies without baking them all yourself!
