Celebrate National Children's Dental Health Month with students from Essex Tech Dental Program at North Shore Children's Museum. Children will enjoy stories, songs, and activities about teeth and dentists and will have an opportunity to practice their brushing skills! Families of all ages are welcome.

Join the specialists of Wingmasters for a live birds of prey demonstration at the Hamilton Wenham Public Library. Birds of prey are also known as raptors, and they are hunting birds characterized by hooked beaks and powerful grabbing feet armed with sharp talons (the word raptor comes from a Latin word that means "to seize"). Raptors can also boast the best eyesight and the sharpest hearing in the animal kingdom. Raptors include hawks, falcons and owls, and this presentation, which incorporates 8 live birds of prey gives an overview of these different categories.

Winter is the perfect time of year to go out in search of owls. Before we head out on our adventure, we'll learn about these fascinating birds in our Nature Center using real owl mounts, feathers, and talons. We'll end our exploration with an owl-hooting lesson!

Our engaging and experienced staff will introduce families to local beaches, forests, and wetlands to make observations in nature, identify wildlife, and enjoy hands on science activities outdoors. Sign up for one, some, or all!
Some animals hibernate, some migrate, and some stay active in winter. Explore the sanctuary woodlands looking for clues of what animals have been eating and where they have been sleeping. Discover tracks in the snow and guess which animals made them. We will cover the basics during a short indoor introduction, but most of our time will be spent in the woods following the trails of raccoons, coyotes, foxes, and other woodland animals!
