Come to the Ipswich Middle Grean to Kick-Off the Summer with Ipswich Library and Zach Firld Drum Studios

Ipswich Public Library invites kids and families to kick off the Summer Reading program with the Plum Island Pans - a local steel drum band! The band originates from Zach Field Drums & Music in Newburyport. The 4-piece band consists of a lead steel drum, double second steel drums, 6 can bass and a drum set. Plum Island Pans has even performed at Fenway Park for The Boston Red Sox. For all ages! The program is free and no registration is required.

Get ready for Paint Night excitement at the historic Salisbury Beach Pavilion, home to the beautifully preserved antique Looff-Mangels carousel. Each canvas has a pre-drawn stencil, perfect for artists of all ages and skill levels. Our canvas is 11”x14”, and all colors of paint will be available, allowing for endless creative possibilities. Feed the Beach Creatures at Joppa Flats

You can look at, AND touch the creatures in Joppa Flats touch tank! Feeding time is a lot of fun!

It's time to feed our touch tank animals! Assist our animal husbandry intern team with sorting, identifying, and actually feeding our live marine creatures. Feed periwinkles and rock crabs from the rocky shore, horseshoe crabs and minnows from the salt marsh and hermit crabs and shrimp from the sandy beach. Sign up for one or more and learn all about our creatures fascinating behaviors.
