The United States Coast Guard Station Gloucester annual Safe Boating Day Open House will feature local marine vendors, safe boating displays, flare demonstrations, tours of Coast Guard vessels, and more. Camp Invention will host a session in Ipswich Massachusetts for the week of August 8-12, 2016 from 9am-3:30pm. Camp Invention programs have encouraged nearly two million curious minds to explore, create and invent. Walkers collect sponsorships for their favorite organization, then walk the 5 mile route through downtown Gloucester starting and ending at Stage Fort Park. Join The Trustees and ReVision Energy this spring afternoon to get creative in The Stevens-Coolidge Place gardens. Offering kid-friendly garden experiences in 30 minute intervals, participants will enjoy viewing what spring has sprung with a knowledgeable guide as they meander through the gardens. Each tour will end with participants using the elements of the garden to create solar-powered art. We’ll harness the power of the sun using solar paper and water to create a nature-inspired piece of art. While your new creation dries, take time for a picnic or enjoy a friendly game of giant Jenga or corn hole on the lawn.
