Ben Gundersheimer (MISTER G) is a Latin GRAMMY Award-winning artist, author, activist, and educator. Hailed as “a bilingual rock star” by the Washington Post, he tours internationally playing everywhere from Lollapalooza and Lincoln Center to climate change rallies on Capitol Hill. His spirited bilingual performances aim to help children see each other across borders and foster cross-cultural connections.

Close to 100 people joined us on the Andover Town Hall stage and performed for 4 full houses! In March 2019 we’ll celebrate this anniversary by bringing the magic back to even a larger venue (including some of the original cast!)

A modern day Mr. Rogers with hipster appeal, Joshua Holden and his puppet sidekick, Mr. Nicholas, are bringing their award-winning family production “The Joshua Show” to The Cabot! When Mr. Nichols makes an unnerving self-discovery that causes him to spiral down a path of loneliness and hopeless despair, it’s up to Joshua and his cast of characters, including Larry the Lint and the Wonderbook, to show his best friend the joy in being yourself. With live music, tap dancing, physical comedy and multiple styles of puppetry, this whimsical show is sure to bring out everyone’s joyful side.
Sowah Mensah is an ethnomusicologist, composer and a “Master Drummer” from Ghana, West Africa. Sowah has taught music in both Ghana and Nigeria and is currently a music professor at both Macalester College, and the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN where he also directs each school’s African Music Ensemble. In addition, he is currently a James Marsh Professor-at-Large at the University of Vermont in Burlington, VT and directs the African Music Ensemble at the University of Minnesota. Sowah is the director of Sankofa, a Ghanaian Folklore and Dance Ensemble in the Twin Cities and a member of Speaking in Tongues, a four-piece group based out of the Twin Cities that uses two percussionists, a bassist and a Chinese pipa player. The Brass Project is a brass sextet formed by leading players from the Curtis Institute. These “six superb Curtis brass players” (Philadelphia Inquirer) united around a shared set of multifaceted goals: to expand the repertoire for chamber brass, to record and distribute new works, and to engage with a wide community through outreach and educational programs. The Brass Project gives innovative and creative performances designed for a diverse demographic by performing repertoire specifically commissioned by the ensemble. Free, no tickets required.
