Women's Voices Matter, Women's Hearts Matter, Women's Strength Matters - Join the students of the winter SRT program in this public staged-reading performance as we join together to hear, feel, and be strengthened by the work of remarkable women playwrights. Proceeds from this program will go to the Pettengill House.
The Honors Chamber Music Concert features Northeast Massachusetts Youth Orchestras top musicians all of whom demonstrate a high level of skill and musicianship. This special concert will include music from some of the great masters of the chamber music genre in addition to more contemporary composers. Audience members are invited to attend a reception immediately following the concert to celebrate the accomplishments of these talented young musicians. This concert is free and open to the public.
The Phillips Academy Music Department will present a concert featuring the Academy Concert Bands and ensembles under the direction of Vincent Monaco and Peter Cirelli. The program will feature the music of Vaughn Williams, Seldon, Sousa, Dvořák, and others. The concert, which is free of charge and open to the public, will take place in Cochran Chapel located on the Phillips Academy campus, the Phillips Academy campus. Celebrate the Year of the Dog with traditional Chinese performing arts at the Dolan Performing Arts Center. In an energetic hour-long show by Boston's Chinese Folk Art Workshop , a variety of traditional Chinese folk arts will be showcased including the Dragon Dance, Lion Dance, Taiwanese Drums, Chinese yoyo and Folk Dance. Afterwards, everyone will have the opportunity to try out some of the dances and folk arts.
Nearly twenty years into his performing career, 2014 Grammy-nominated musician Alastair Moock has managed to carve out a unique niche for himself: He is a songwriter committed to celebrating the roots of American music while knocking down the walls between different audiences, genres and musical traditions. Today, his audiences range from adults all the way down to preschoolers, and he plays everything from nightclubs to theaters to schoolrooms. Like his boyhood hero, Woody Guthrie, Moock believes in the power of music to reach all people — young and old, far and wide, for all occasions.

The Akropolis Reed Quintet was founded in 2009 at the University of Michigan and is the first ever ensemble of its makeup to win a Fischoff Gold Medal (2014), Grand Prize at the Plowman and MTNA national competitions, and 6 national chamber music prizes in total. Hailed by Fanfare for its “imagination, infallible musicality, and huge vitality”, Akropolis has performed from Juneau to Abu Dhabi and has showcased at five national conferences. This concert is free, no tickets required.
The NCS Winter Concert features the 140-voice chorus, professional soloists, orchestra, and the Greater Newburyport Children's Chorus, all performing classical, traditional and “sing-along” seasonal favorites! The program will highlight Camille Saint-Saëns’ beautiful Christmas Oratorio, various musical settings of Lo How A Rose E’er Blooming, and an exciting multi-cultural piece from South Africa entitled, Hope for Resolution.
