Baby Boot Camp Celebrates!

At Baby Boot Camp, moms get exercise while kids have fun!

Bring the whole family for a fun, FREE workout at beautiful Lynch Park in Beverly, MA. Moms*, dads, siblings, and grandparents are all invited to check out what Baby Boot Camp has to offer. Starting promptly at 9:00 at the Cove Community Center on East Corning Street, class will involve cardiovascular drills and strength training (all modifiable for prenatal* or extra intensity) and will conclude with refreshments, giveaways, and class discounts. Children are encouraged to bring a push-toy or stroller and their favorite stuffed friend for a special pint-sized workout at the conclusion of class. Come for an hour or come for a few minutes, but don’t miss out!

Baby Boot Camp stroller-based fitness classes are designed specifically to help moms get fit. It takes the place of a personal trainer at a time in your life when you need one more than ever. Classes combine strength-training exercises with cardiovascular drills. Pilates, yoga and abdominal exercises help improve core strength. The stroller, resistance tubes (and even your child!) are used as an integral part of the workout. Come try it - the first class is always FREE!

Spirit Animals Workshop

Teens are invited to discover their Spirit Animals at the Beverly Library!

You do not have access to view this node invites teens to explore themselves and discover their Spirit Animals! Discover the animal lurking within you; then make it out of clay! The Zuni and other Pueblo Indians carve animals small enough to fit into their pockets. They believe these connect the humans who carry them to the spirit of the animals they represent. After an introductory discussion and brief demonstration, participants sculpt their own spirit animals which they can paint when dry and decorate with a “bundle” using small shells, feathers, beads, etc.

Themes will include your new role as a parent, early developmental stages, warmth and how to dress your baby, healthy rhythm for the day, sleep and the foundational senses. Parents will learn lullabies and games to play with their babies.

Bring home a baby doll for your little one - handmade by you! Be creative, be inspired by Elizabeth Stubbs, a Waldorf early childhood teacher and artist, and other doll makers in training. Dolls are made from all natural materials, sweet, lightweight, and oh so soft for hugging. Basic sewing skills are all you need for this workshop. $35 workshop fee includes hands-on instruction and materials to make the doll. Waldorf School in Beverly hosts a Spring Egg Felting workshop.

Spring is coming! Did you know that in many cultures all over the world, spring is celebrated with colored eggs? Join us to celebrate on Saturday, March 14, from 9:30am - 12:30pm. We will needle felt colorful eggs using soft, unspun wool fleece. Elizabeth Stubbs, a Waldorf early childhood teacher and artist will provide gentle, hands-on guidance to attendees. All skill levels welcome. $40 workshop fee includes instruction and materials and everyone will bring home at least 3 beautiful eggs. This workshop will take place at Waldorf School at Moraine Farm. Come help Salem Sound Coastwatch with the Coastsweep cleanup of the Bass River in Beverly, Massachusetts!

As part of COASTSWEEP Beach Cleanup, volunteers are encouraged to help in the statewide effort to keep our coastline clean along the shore in Beverly Massachusetts. Trash collected will be measured and analyzed, and the data will be sent to Washington DC to aid the government in creating legislation to minimize trash in our oceans!
