This summer, the Cape Ann Museum is proud to unveil a Contemporary Art Wetu at the Cape Ann Museum Green. Join the Museum to see the installation in process on Friday, June 21 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.  

Kids Con New England is the first and only comic book convention just for kids in New England! Kids Con New England® is New England’s first and largest kids-focused comic con & children’s book event! Inspiring art education, literacy and creativity through family-friendly comics, children’s books, art, creative workshops, gaming, and fun activities! Meet amazing family-friendly comic book creators, children’s book authors, artists, learn the comic arts, jedi training, superhero training, gaming tournaments, pirate camp, robotic demos, princess sing-along and storytime, kids sketch-off, puppet show, family costume contest and more!

Portraits In Silhouette is the combined expertise of silhouette artists and mother-daughter team, Jean Comerford and Marcella Comerford-Foley. Portraits In Silhouette is focused on bringing you original, personalized work, full of inventive detail and creative spark. The silhouettes are never produced with a digital program copied, or traced. You can expect a genuine, hand-cut, and individual portrait each time, with consideration for the subject’s character and those great details – capturing “what makes them who they are.” Whether that is a signature hairstyle, a cowlick, the way they hold their mouth, a bowtie, or glasses, we love to bring out the personality in our portraits.  Children of all ages including wigglers are welcome!

Come by the side lawn of the Library to create a solar powered bug! Find out why bugs are attracted to light and how solar energy works to move your bug! Registration is required. If the weather is bad, we will contact you as we will divide the groups up to come at different times. Made possible in part with funds from the Friends of the Amesbury Library. For kids in grades 2-5.
