Newburyport BabyStep's 8-Week Afternoon Block Party at is open to boys and girls ages 3-6 years old. This is one-hour class starts with 30 minutes of hip hop dance, followed by a 30-minute "free-style", instructional music class.

Harlequins, scoters, eiders, grebes, mergansers, loons, gannets and many more spend their winter on our shores. There is also a good possibility of seeing harbor seals that winter here.

Get into the holiday season by creating your own stunning natural wreath! There is nothing more beautiful that what nature offers us to decorate our homes in fall. Using evergreens, burgundy blueberry twigs, fallen lichen, mosses, a variety of seed pods, unusual cones, deep red rosehips, dried flower heads, and autumn leaves, we will build our 16” wreaths by hand.
Its pie time and we have you covered for the Thanksgiving holiday! Come to the farm kitchen to learn all the basics for making delicious country-style pies including techniques on tender pie crust, rolling & assembly, and proper baking.…..all while keeping it fun, simple, and stress-free. Everyone will make & take home an unbaked 9" deep dish Apple-Cranberry Pie to bake for the holiday! Plus, we'll savor and share the recipe for another seasonal pie favorite! Additional pie recipes will be included in the recipe book, and class will enjoy coffee & pie at the end of the workshop. BYOB is allowed.
It’s apple season in New England and we’re honoring this favorite crop in our farm kitchen! We’ll prepare a complete menu including both sweet & savory dishes using apples sourced from local orchards, with recipes such as Apple, Onion, & Cheddar Tart, Brick Chicken with Roasted Apples, Sage, & Cider Pan Gravy, Sweet & Sour Braised Red Cabbage with Apples, Caramel Apple Bread Pudding.
The Ipswich River is the perfect place to start your children canoeing. We'll pair up two adults and two children per canoe and take a leisurely paddle up the river. We'll stop off in one of the backwater areas and do some dipping in the river to get a closer look at the creatures that live under the surface. On our return, we'll enjoy a snack at the picnic tables by the Nature Center and talk about what we discovered. Bring a blanket and we'll provide a sweet treat.
Hamilton Wenham Youth Soccer is excited to begin providing referee training for our league. The 5-week Town Referee Training program will prepare participants for refereeing intramural games and to be an Assistant Referee in town travel games. Additionally, it will prepare participants for official USSF referee certification. This is a helpful but non-mandatory step to achieving USSF certification for 13 or 14 years olds interested in getting an early start as a referee & provide a new perspective on the game if they are players already.
There is nothing quite like bread fresh from the oven. Join chef Elizabeth Walkowicz to learn how to make your own exquisite bread from scratch. Using both our outdoor earth oven and traditional methods, you will learn to make flat bread and a rustic olive loaf. We will pair with an Appleton Farms salad and cheese for a perfect summer lunch on the patio. This hands-on workshop includes instruction by a professional chef, printed recipe booklet and a tasting. BYOB beer and wine is allowed.
