In partnership with the Imagination Foundation, the Phoenix School will host its annual Cardboard Challenge at Armory Park in Salem. Join in the worldwide celebration of creativity and imagination where everyone is challenged to design and create using cardboard and recycled materials. The Phoenix School Cardboard Challenge is part of a global Day of Play around the world. The Phoenix School’s Global Cardboard Challenge is an opportunity for kids, parents, students of all ages, adults -- everyone!-- to join in the FUN!
Meet us at Cashman Park in Newburyport then we'll dash onto the Newburyport Rail Trail for a 1 mile FUN RUN! Costumes are encouraged and children of all ages are welcome! All proceeds from the run will benefit the Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center. Registration begins at 10 AM and the run races off at 11AM.
Are there fairies and gnomes at Ravenswood Park? Using only all natural materials found on the forest floor, kids can create your their own secret home. Elves, gnomes or fairies will love them! Even our littlest wildlife friends will enjoy checking out your wee secret home. Wear your faery frock and dance along the children's trail with wee secret homes!
There's a lot going during the Harvest Festival on Middle Street in Gloucester! Come to the Middle Street Harvest Festival for live music, museum tours, the Thanksgiving Cape Ann Farmers Market, a craft fair and chowder luncheon, story time and crafts for the kids, tours of the Gloucester Fire Station and more! A benefit concert will take place to raise funds for the Grace Center at Trinity Congregational Church of Gloucester. The Middle Street Harvest Festival is sponsored by Bank Gloucester and other local businesses.
Get into the holiday season by creating your own evergreen wreath! Kids will craft their 16" wreaths by hand using local greenery, winter berries, fallen cones, holly leaves, ribbon, and more! Materials and instruction included. Parents are encouraged to attend but wreath making is for kids only please. Miss Lisa of the Joppa Flats Education Center visits Amesbury Public Library each month for a 1 hour program focused on pre-schoolers! Participants will be engaged, excited, and learning about all kinds of things in nature. Each program is an hour long and includes hands-on activities, group role play, and fun take homes. Register for each program separately.
Wood, hammers and nails--add a little imagination and watch what happens! The result is always fun! All ages welcome. Those 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Perfect for kids, tweens and teens. Please register via email by November 25 at 5pm.
Make a lantern out of a plastic bottle and tissue paper and then bring it to Santa's arrival at the Hawthorne Hotel and procession down the Essex Street Pedestrian Mall to the Tree Lighting in Lappin Park. Plastic bottles provided or bring your own! SCAM will also be collecting bottles throughout the week, so bring your recycleable plastic bottles down for us!
