The Ipswich Human Rights Commission and Town of Ipswich are happy to hos the Annual Love Your Neighbors 5K Walk/Run! The Love Your Neighbors 5K is an event meant to bring the Ipswich community and others together in the spirit of unity, and to advance social awareness. Each year, the Love Your Neighbors 5K will highlight & emphasize an event, group, or person who represents the spirit of equity, inclusion, and diversity.
As part of COASTSWEEP Beach Cleanup, volunteers are encouraged to help in the statewide effort to keep our coastline clean along the shore in Danvers Massachusetts. Trash collected will be measured and analyzed, and the data will be sent to Washington DC to aid the government in creating legislation to minimize trash in our oceans.

The United States Coast Guard Station Gloucester annual Safe Boating Day Open House will feature local marine vendors, safe boating displays, flare demonstrations, tours of Coast Guard vessels, and more. Free to the public. Recreational boaters, commercial boaters, loads of fun for the kids!
Come to Rebecca Nurse Homestead to try your hand at ancient hunting practices! The technique of using an atlatl, or spear throwing stick, is an ancient global technology. Join us, along with the Eugene Winter Chapter of Mass Archaeological Society, as they teach you the finer points about hunting in the ancient world! Stop by the Rebecca Nurse Homestead and hunt a woolly mammoth or woolly rhinoceros. Fun and educational for adults and kids of all ages. Wooly mammoth tooth and mastodon tooth and tusk will be on display along with samples of Native American Artifacts found in Danvers. This event is FREE as part of Trails & Sails! If you would like to visit the Nurse Homestead museum, paid admission is required.

Maudslay State Park has created this program for their youngest crowd! For the young set that loves nature, the park interpreter will lead a three-part preschool aged program that includes a story, craft & walk that involves outdoor exploration. The Backyard Growcery is located at Burnham's Field, an urban park near Gloucester’s thriving waterfront, and features small-scale North Shore farmers, bakers, a seafood vendor, an artisanal pizza maker, and more, throughout the season.
The Topsfield Fair is a perennial favorite for us. We're not the biggest fans of the midway, although it is always worth a walkthrough and a ride or two. We love fruits and vegetables, and are always on the lookout for the winning 'biggest pumpkin'. Another favorite is checking out the pigs and other farm animals, as well as the interesting variety of guinea pigs and rabbits.
We've assembled a list of some of our favorite apple orchards north of Boston. Many offer pick-your-own apples and apples that are available for purchase by the pound. In addition to apple picking, many of the orchards offer trail walks, farm stands, baked goods, petting farms, country stores, hay rides and other child-friendly activities.
