Kids and their families are invited to the Ipswich Museum for a Haunted House each weekend in October! Enter if you dare! Our Haunted House is open Saturdays in October from 7-9pm. Entry is free but donations are gladly accepted.
The Trustees of Reservations invite you to tour the gardens at Long Hill Gardens in Beverly, Massachusetts to celebrate Autumn and Halloween! Come explore our beautiful property as we transform Long Hill into a celebration of autumn and the Halloween season. As always, there are a few new surprises and of course many more pumpkins this year. Follow our seasonal-themed trail that will feature over 1,000 jack-o’-lanterns, hundreds of mums, elaborate Halloween decorations, light displays, music, and more. This is the perfect Halloween event for the whole family!
Wingmasters with Jim Parks present Eyes on Owls. Owls are not evil spirits, wise little philosophers or Walt Disney creations. Nor do they wing about carrying messages, despite the way they're depicted in the Harry Potter books. In fact, owls are probably more misunderstood than any other kind of bird. These are hunting birds, yet their sharp beaks and talons are partly hidden under feathers. Owl have more and softer feathers than other birds, and this unique plumage gives them a plump, rounded look.
At sundown this Halloween season, Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary will be transformed into a magical forest. Take a guided walk along our Halloween trail, lit by glowing luminaries and home to some interesting characters that come out just for Halloween. Learn about local animals of the night and signs of the season on this, fun family-friendly walk. Allow about one and a half hours for this walk.

Trick or Treat Ipswich! Ipswich Business Roundtable has organized and sponsors Downtown Trick or Treat! For the sake of safety we would highly recommend that everyone start at the footbridge leading from Ebsco lot to South Main. If we keep foot traffic going in one direction, it will make for less congestion on the sidewalks. From there, please continue into South Main and make a loop through downtown’s Market Street, Central Street to the Fire Station. Safety first. Thanks everyone. In addition to the moon and Saturn we’ll be showing off an assortment of binary and double stars, nebula, clusters, and the Andromeda galaxy at the annual NSAAC star party at Battis Farm in Amesbury. Co-hosted with the Lake Gardner Improvement Association, we’ll have a number of volunteers with telescopes set up for visitors to look through. This event is part of Trails & Sails.
