CraneOutdoors: Castle Neck Riverboat Tour

Tour the waters of Essex Bay estuary aboard the Trustee's pontoon boat Osprey!

Join us for a cruise in Essex Bay aboard our pontoon boat the Osprey! We’ll view the seldom seen backside of the Crane Wildlife Refuge and take a turn around Choate Island to view the open fields, wooded hillside and historic structures from the water while hearing stories and learning fun facts about the area from our veteran riverboat captains.

A Pond a Week at Harold Parker

Discover what creatures live in New England Ponds at Harold Parker State Forest! Photo ©Bill O'Connor

Harold Parker state Forest has 11 ponds, 9 of which were created by the CCC. During the month, visit 4 of these ponds. Learn their function and importance. Meet at the Nature Center inside the campground. Wear appropriate hiking shoes. It is recommended that you bring water, insect repellent and sun screen. Appropriate for all ages, must be able to walk several miles.

Bring your family, a blanket, a picnic dinner and enjoy the beauty of a Summer night under the stars!  The Snack Bar will be open for the movie.

Ryan Fitzsimmons brings Americana-rock originals and covers to the Al Capp Ampitheater in the Amesbury Millyard

Amesbury's own Ryan Fitzsimmons will play americana-rock originals and covers. He has toured all over New England and beyond, appearing at venues such as the Newport Folk Festival & Club Passim, winning the awards "Best Male Vocalist" and "Favorite Local Rock Band" along the way. His songs that are “as authentic and emotion driven as they come” (thanks Redline Roots). Kara Kulpa will join him on fiddle and mandolin.

John Higby is the Yo-Yo Guy!  He has performed his unique high-energy comedy yo-yo show in 26 countries from New Zealand to Japan, holds the world yo-yo champion title and 4 Guinness World Records.  He has been featured on David Letterman, Discovery Channel's Time Warp, Comedy Central, The Guinness World Record Show, Fetch with Ruff Ruffman on PBS, and even has his own Topps trading card!  ESPN magazine coined him "Unsung Hero" of 2008.  The Yo-Yo Guy is an interactive performance with yo-yos, unicycle, and a giant yo-yo that John walks on!  Specializing in family shows, this show is great for all ages!
