Ben Gundersheimer (MISTER G) is a Latin GRAMMY Award-winning artist, author, activist, and educator. Hailed as “a bilingual rock star” by the Washington Post, he tours internationally playing everywhere from Lollapalooza and Lincoln Center to climate change rallies on Capitol Hill. His spirited bilingual performances aim to help children see each other across borders and foster cross-cultural connections.

Come with us and you’ll be in a world of Pure Imagination! Join us for the beloved family musical adventure, Willy Wonka at the Performing Arts Center at North Andover High School. 10 years ago Willy Wonka was Acting Out!’s very first full scale production.  Close to 100 people joined us on the Andover Town Hall stage and performed for 4 full houses!  In March 2019 we’ll celebrate this anniversary by bringing the magic back to even a larger venue (including some of the original cast!)

Sowah Mensah is an ethnomusicologist, composer and a “Master Drummer” from Ghana, West Africa. Sowah has taught music in both Ghana and Nigeria and is currently a music professor at both Macalester College, and the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN where he also directs each school’s African Music Ensemble. In addition, he is currently a James Marsh Professor-at-Large at the University of Vermont in Burlington, VT and directs the African Music Ensemble at the University of Minnesota. Sowah is the director of Sankofa, a Ghanaian Folklore and Dance Ensemble in the Twin Cities and a member of Speaking in Tongues, a four-piece group based out of the Twin Cities that uses two percussionists, a bassist and a Chinese pipa player.  Free, no tickets required.
