Listen to The 215th Army Band of the Massachusetts Army National Guard at the Danvers Family Festival Concert

Grab some dinner, your lawn chair and your bestie and head on down to the Pavilion to listen to The 215th Army Band of the Massachusetts Army National Guard.  They are heralded as one of the nation’s finest military bands. For more than 60 years, the band has performed throughout New England and the world, bringing the Army’s fine musical traditions and goodwill to thousands of listeners.

The The Trustees of Reservations are hosting The Orchestra on the Hill for a Spring concert at Castle Hill on the Crane Estate! Celebrate Spring with a  delightful evening of concerto favorites performed at the beautiful Crane Castle with music by Mozart, Haydn, Caliendo and Handel.  The Orchestra on the Hill will perform feature presentations by renown soloists from the North Shore area. As a special tribute to our gifted young musicians in Ipswich, we will feature youth cello soloist winner, Tessa Devoe.

It's been played on NPR and Disney Radio, made the "recommended listen" list by the Grammys, has been featured in LA Parent Magazine, and most importantly has made tens of thousands of children laugh, dance, and sing.

The Phillips Academy Orchestra Band Concert

The Phillips Academy Music Department will present a concert featuring the Academy Concert Bands and ensembles under the direction of Vincent Monaco and Peter Cirelli. The program will feature the music of Vaughn Williams, Seldon, Sousa, Dvořák, and others. The concert, which is free of charge and open to the public, will take place in Cochran Chapel located on the Phillips Academy campus, the Phillips Academy campus. Alastair Moock brings folk music for kids to the Cabot Theater in Beverly, Massachusetts!

Nearly twenty years into his performing career, 2014 Grammy-nominated musician Alastair Moock has managed to carve out a unique niche for himself: He is a songwriter committed to celebrating the roots of American music while knocking down the walls between different audiences, genres and musical traditions. Today, his audiences range from adults all the way down to preschoolers, and he plays everything from nightclubs to theaters to schoolrooms. Like his boyhood hero, Woody Guthrie, Moock believes in the power of music to reach all people — young and old, far and wide, for all occasions.

Akropolis Reed Quintet at Shalin Liu

The Akropolis Quintet will perform a FREE Family concert at the Shalin Liu Center in Rockport Massachusetts

The Akropolis Reed Quintet was founded in 2009 at the University of Michigan and is the first ever ensemble of its makeup to win a Fischoff Gold Medal (2014), Grand Prize at the Plowman and MTNA national competitions, and 6 national chamber music prizes in total. Hailed by Fanfare for its “imagination, infallible musicality, and huge vitality”, Akropolis has performed from Juneau to Abu Dhabi and has showcased at five national conferences. This concert is free, no tickets required.

Nobuntu: A Cappella at Its Best

Nobuntu brings a cappella from Africa to the Rogers Center for the Arts in North Andover

Nobuntu is a “Five Part” A’cappella Vocal ensemble made up of young women from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. The name Nobuntu is an African concept that values humbleness, love, purpose, unity and family from a woman’s perspective. Their repertoire is a fusion of traditional Zimbabwean rooted music, Afro Jazz, Gospel and Crossover in pure voices with minimalistic percussion, traditional instruments such as Mbira and some dance movements. See them here in their ONLY Boston Area performance before they appear at Lincoln Center in NYC.

The Mayor's Cup Race at the Gloucester Schooner Festival is just part of the fun
