This Imagine, Sing and Learn with Lisa Hutchings is all about asking the question IS IT SPRING YET? This is an active indoor program for ages 3-6 and a favorite grown-up with some outdoor time (weather permitting). We will learn all about WOOD FROGS, SALAMANDERS, LADYBUGS, SONG BIRDS and more! Using props, group role play, song and movement, we will learn about the fascinating ways animals wake up and come back in springtime – each animal has its own special way of greeting the longer, warmer days of spring!
For 42 years there has been the Art on Bartlet Mall painting show the first weekend of Yankee Homecoming. This year 60 artists again will be showing all media of work including a few hand-pulled printing artists. The artists are from Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, and even New Jersey. There are award winners in over half of the participants.
Looking for an indoor Homecoming activity? Check out the Family Fun Day at Clay Dreaming - 1/2 price studio fees for paint your own pottery until 5 pm. Clay Dreaming Pottery Studio is a communal atmosphere where students of all ages and skill levels come to create. We offer a Clay Studio, a Paint Your Own Pottery Studio, and a Retail Gallery. Joppa Flats Education Center invites families to drop in to meet live caterpillars, moths, and butterflies! Learn how to attract birds and other wildlife to your own yard and safely identify insects. Enjoy a Backyard Bug Hunt with our naturalists, join in a Monarch Migration Relay Race, and take home a fun craft or two.
Every year, Glover's Regiment hosts a summer encampment at Marblehead's historic Fort Sewall. This picturesque fort sits on a rock bluff overlooking Marblehead Harbor and Salem Bay, providing a stunning backdrop for the event. Inside the fort's bowl-shaped area, the regiment sets up a Colonial camp. Tents, cooking fires, and a dining fly create an authentic atmosphere.
Start your summer with this popular annual event! This year’s Fairy Festival is full of family-friendly activities inspired by art, nature, and story. Activities include making fairy houses, tea parties, crafting, face painting, fairy yoga, and more.
For 40 years, Bird-a-thon has brought birders, nature-lovers, and families together to celebrate nature and raise funds that provide essential year-round support for Mass Audubon's conservation, nature education, and advocacy work.
