BMPAA Electronic Recycling Event

Recycle your old electronics and help the Beverly High School Music Department

The Beverly High School Music Department will host its third annual electronic recycling event on Saturday, November 4 from 8 a.m. to noon at the BHS parking lot. For a fee, drop off your old electronics at the BHS parking lot. Recycle your unwanted televisions, air conditioners, appliances, phones, fire extinguishers and much more. Proceeds will support the music department. If you wish to have items picked up, or have questions, please email: bmpaarecycling@gmail.com or call 978-712-8146 and leave a message.

We’ll take note of the ways nature gets ready to rest – the preparations that plants and animals make to survive the snowfall that will arrive in a matter of weeks. Bring your sharp senses and your skills of observation! This is an outdoor adventure for the whole family! We’ll end our ramble with a campfire and hot chocolate.

Nobuntu: A Cappella at Its Best

Nobuntu brings a cappella from Africa to the Rogers Center for the Arts in North Andover

Nobuntu is a “Five Part” A’cappella Vocal ensemble made up of young women from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. The name Nobuntu is an African concept that values humbleness, love, purpose, unity and family from a woman’s perspective. Their repertoire is a fusion of traditional Zimbabwean rooted music, Afro Jazz, Gospel and Crossover in pure voices with minimalistic percussion, traditional instruments such as Mbira and some dance movements. See them here in their ONLY Boston Area performance before they appear at Lincoln Center in NYC.

Fall Foliage Day at Ward Reservation

Join the Trustees on the top of Holt Hill to kick off the Fall foliage season with phenomenal views of Boston framed by gorgeous autumn color. Enjoy guided hikes to the unexplored areas of Ward Reservation. Take part in family activities including kite making and lawn games.  Enjoy some of your favorite fall treats, like apple cider donuts, and roast marshmallows for s’mores.

Tour Cape Pond Ice and chill wioth the coolest guys in town!

Chill with the coolest guys in town! Enjoy a cool visit to Cape Pond Ice Company, icing Gloucester's fleet since 1848. We were featured in Sebastian Junger's account of The Perfect Storm. Tours highlight the history of the ice industry, with vintage film of natural ice harvests. See first hand 300-pound block ice being made (up to 350 tons per day), fishing vessels taking on ice and ice sculptures being carved in our historic icehouse on Gloucester's working waterfront. Part of Trails & Sails.
