The folks at Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary have created an owling expedition just for kids aged 3-6! Winter is the perfect time of year to go out in search of owls. We'll learn about these fascinating birds through a story and hands-on activities before we head out on our adventure to look for them. Afterwards, we'll warm up by the woodstove with a cup of hot chocolate and cookies.
The annual Middle Street Walk 2025 wraps up every year with the lighting of the lobster trap Christmas tree in Gloucester Massachusetts! Stop by Cape Ann Art Haven for a Holiday Party with hot chocolate, sweet treats, kids' crafts, holiday photos, face painting live music. Caroling starts at 4:30pm, followed by the tree lighting across the street at 5pm. The Phillips Academy Department of Music will present a Service of Lessons and Carols—rooted in the tradition of King’s College of Cambridge, England. This service is presented by the chaplaincy and Department of Music. Traditional Christmas readings and carols will be performed in addition to Benjamin Britten’s Ceremony of Carols with guest harpist, Caroline Mellott.
Firehouse Center for the Arts hosts Joppa Dance Company as they present 'The Holiday Adventures of the Misfit Toys', an original dance-theater production that centers around three unlikely friends. One, a stuffed animal that doesn’t fit into any particular species; the second, a doll that prefers an alternative punky-gothic style to the usual pink frills; the third, a Barbie who rejects the normal attire for…men’s suits? Donations will be collected to benefit the Thanksgiving Basket Project of a local food pantry.

Vered is an award winning musician who brings the joys and intricacies of family life to music. Her show is fun, funny, gets everyone singing along, and sometimes will even have parents shedding an emotional tear. Inspired by her experience as a music therapist and psychotherapist, and her experience as a mom of three, Vered approaches relationships in the family with wonder, curiosity, and humor. Her music is reminiscent of a Doo-Wop band, using playful vocal harmonies, lively horns, pots and pans, and beatboxing to get everyone jumping and singing along. Vered’s albums Good Morning My Love, Hello My Baby, and Songs for Sisters and Brothers all received prestigious awards.
