Come to the State Street Landing in Downtown Marblehead to welcome Santa as he arrives by lobster boat! There's plenty of photo ops and Santa's arrival is followed by the Marblehead Christmas Walk Parade.
Kids of all ages are welcome to come down to Essex Town Landing for a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus! Enjoy Woodman’s chowder and Dunkins’ cocoa and munchkins while we await the arrival, then let the kids take a turn sitting with the big red couple to plead their cases for gifts that breathe and/or are outside of any reasonable budget - you know, all the stuff they can only get from Santa. The arrival itself will happen at 5:00pm and visits will take place on the front porch of the Essex Historical Society & Shipbuilding Museum. Please bring a mask to sit with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Beginning at 3:30pm, the MERHS Band and Elementary School Chorus will perform an outdoor concert at Manchester Town Green. The Students from the Ballet de Mar will also perform four dances. The Manchester Woman's Club will serve hot chocolate donated by the Masons and Mrs. Claus and her elf will hand out Candy Canes. In case of bad weather, the program will be cancelled, but the Tree Lighting will go on at dusk. Lighting of the Friendship Tree and concert are sponsored by the Manchester Woman's Club.
The BevRec will be hosting a Holiday Toy Drive at Lynch Park to benefit the great work that Beverly Bootstraps does for our community. After you’ve wrapped up a day of delicious food and giving thanks…not to mention the shopping…it is time to pay it forward.

Rowley Volunteer Fire Protection Association Hosts 1st Annual Rowley Veterans Day 5K and Kids 1 Mile Fun Run. The Rowley Volunteer Fire Protection would like to sponsor this event to help raise money for our Rowley Veterans Committee as well as start raising money for next year's Memorial Day Parade. We hope to get as many participants as possible. If you would like to donate, please follow the link for donations. Come see over 100 locally and professionally made gingerbread creations on display at the historic Jeremiah Lee Mansion in Marblehead, MA during this year's Marblehead Christmas Walk. Community members, businesses, and families are building and donating dozens of gingerbread houses, boats and local buildings that will be on display and available for raffle throughout the weekend. Days and times vary so check the times!
The Tree Lighting will take place at the new National Grand Bank Parking Lot on Pleasant Street in Downtown Marblehead this year! Enjoy the festive atmosphere and live music as the town lights the yearly Christmas tree! Festivities begin at 5:30pm with the tree lighting at 7pm.
Join Pastry Chef Sam Burns to construct and decorate festive gingerbread houses to celebrate the winter season. Construction material will include house-made gingerbread, frostings, and fondant. An array of nostalgic candies will provide the finishing details to our construction project. Suitable for ages 6+, the only requirements are imagination, patience and persistence with a piping bag. Homemade cocoa and sweets will be provided to fuel our project, and constructed gingerbread homes will be packed for safe transport home.
