Salem’s Ice Scream Bowl is back! It’s time to sample some of the best ice cream in the North Shore from some of the many ice cream shops the area has to offer. Salem’s Ice Scream Bowl event will be held on Wednesday, August 7 on the Salem Common from 6:00-7:30 p.m., rain or shine. A Heritage Days favorite, this annual event is a chance to taste some classic flavors and new combinations from the area’s premier ice cream shops.

Run the Flag Day 5k and raise funds for Massachusetts Veterans who have sustained serious injury in the line of duty

The 1st LT Derek Hines Soldiers Assistance Fund is excited to return to Cashman Park for the 13th Annual Flag Day 5K road race. The 5K walk or run will be hosted on June 15th, 2024 at Cashman Park in Newburyport, MA. We look forward to gathering in person this year as we continue to honor 1st LT Derek Hines and provide financial assistance for Massachusetts’ soldiers, and their families, who have incurred serious, career-ending, and life-altering injuries while on active duty.

Emma Andrews Library and Community Center invites you to the library for their annual fundraising plant sale!   As you are contemplating your gardens and find an excess of plants or plants that need dividing, please donate them to us. Plants may be dropped off in the backyard of the Emma at 77 Purchase Street on Friday, May 31. And then, come join us on Saturday, June 1 to find wonderful offerings for your garden. All proceeds go to fund the general expenses to keep the library running.

This family-friendly event gives 100% of race proceeds and donations to Mass General Cancer Center for Thoracic Cancer Research under the direction of Dr. Justin Gainor. MGH is deeply committed to rapidly bringing advances to their patients and is making remarkable progress in identifying genetic mutations and developing targeted therapies for lung cancer. Your participation will help make a difference in the lives of patients today and it is with much optimism that one day lung cancer will be a treatable disease and no longer fatal.

Annual Walk/Run for HAWC

The annual walk for HAWC in Salem Massachusetts is a major fundraiser for the organization!

HAWC hosts their annual fundraiser run and walk in Salem, Massachusetts. Come together to support HAWC and raise critical funds and awareness for HAWC's work. Participate in our 5K traditional walk, a timed run, through historic downtown Salem. Then stay to participate in our Family Fun Festival with kids games and races, lunch courtesy of Kelly’s Roast Beef , a pet parade led by the Good Witch of Salem, interactive activities hosted by our vendors and more!

North Shore Kids' PMC Bike Ride

Kids are encouraged to ride their bikes to raise money for the Pan Mass Challenge in Manchester

The Pan-Mass Challenge North Shore Kids' Ride will be one of many PMC Kids Rides held in neighborhoods throughout New England and beyond. Kids from Gloucester, Rockport, Beverly, Salem, Ipswich, Manchester, Hamilton-Wenham and other North Shore Towns will be riding in this event. Through the PMC Kids Rides program, nearly 6,000 cyclists between the ages of two and 15 will ride between one and 26 miles in mini-bike-a-thons to raise money for cancer research.
