The 20th Annual Salem Children’s Charity Annual Holiday Fundraiser and Christmas Party at Victoria Station will be held on December 10, 2013. This years event features a Silent Auction, Live Auction and Raffles with fabulous items to bid on including sports collectibles and celebrity collectables. All proceeds go directly to meeting the basic and often emergency needs of Salem’s school children.

Head to the Collins Observatory on the roof of Meier Hall at Salem State University for a free night of star-and-planet gazing with the North Shore Amateur Astronomy Club to find out. Collins Observatory is normally open on CLEAR, or MOSTLY CLEAR Monday nights from 7-10 PM.

We'll be reading Charlie Needs a Cloak by Tomie dePola to get ready for both winter and the opening of the exhibition, Future Beauty: 30 Years of Japanese Fashion on the 16th. Design a cloak after the book!
Children between the ages of four and nine years old will have a chance to interact with a real Jedi Knight. Jedi Knight Training will be held on the Common — an interactive performance that is great for both boys and girls! Children are led through a series of challenges including Jedi Force Magic, the Laser Balloon Barrage and Jedi Teamwork culminating in an epic lightsaber duel with the Jedi Master himself. This FREE event is open to children aged 4-9, and costumes are encouraged!
Family Fun Days on the Salem Common will have live entertainment, rides, games, contests and all kinds of fun for kids and families. Stop by as part of your visit to other Haunted Happenings events, and get in the spirit of Halloween! A portion of the proceeds will go to the Salem Main Streets and the Salem Common Nieghborhood Association!
Grab a blanket and the kids and head over to Salem Common at dusk for an outdoor showing of some favorite family-friendly movies that will get you in the mood for a spooktacular Halloween! Each weekend Radio 92.9 will sponsor a different movie through October, so come to one or all!
