Appleton farms is launching a NEW afterschool cooking class for kids ages 8-12. Do you have a future chef on your hands or kid that loves taste testing with new recipes? We will get our hands dirty both out on the farm and in the kitchen! Each week we will use locally sourced ingredients, some of which we may harvest ourselves, to craft 2 delicious recipes. We will discuss topics like seasonality, following recipes, proper measuring and knife skills. Cooking experience is certainly not required, but a love off food is recommended!

We will be: training our pony Koty, working with our newest Cuvilly Critter, Hamilton the pig, managing the chicken coop and overseeing egg production. We will be growing food to donate to ACCORD Food Pantry in Hamilton and The Open Door in Gloucester. We will grow and prepare food from farm to table! The entire afternoon will be farm-based.

This fun-filled family event kicks off the 2017 YMCA North Shore Road Race Series, now in its 11th year! Argy the gorilla has completed this wandering 5K course through the wooded neighborhoods of Ipswich, on everything from running shoes to a Segway to the back seat of a convertible! Bring the kids along for workout games with Argy (the Gorilla)! Post-race awards, music, photos, refreshments and more! This race is open to all ages.
