GNOCA's 5K Run/Walk in Honor of Jackie Poor & Paula Holm is a 5k Run or Family Friendly Stroll through Scenic Newburyport starting & ending at Michael's Harborside. This event is open to anyone who wants to support a community school and all the wonderful enrichment programs the students hope to enjoy throughout the year. The 5K route meanders through the beautiful back roads of Essex. The Kids' Fun Dashes are always a hit, with even the littlest ones smiling from start to finish. The Rowley Farmers Market is an open air market held on Sundays on the Rowley Town Common. There's always a great selection of fresh local produce, food stuffs and locally hand-made goods. The Essex County Greenbelt Association is hosting the annual Vineyard Hill Trail Race, featuring both 5k and 10k options. Located on the town line of Hamilton and Topsfield, this 5K/10K course takes runners over Vineyard Hill, through sections of Bradley Palmer State Park, along the Bay Circuit Trail, and across Greenbelt’s scenic Shaw Field. The trails are generally wide and rolling, though Vineyard Hill itself adds a challenge to the course!
Come listen to some great music by two bands made up of Salem residents and others from Grade 7 through adult, under the direction of Cynthia Napierkowski, director of the Salem High School Band. Event takes place at the Salem High School Auditorium serving as a rain location.
