Ipswich Museum Educator, Stacey Fraser-deHaan, hosts a family workshop complementing the summer exhibit, “Ipswich Women in the Arts".   Participants will tour the Heard House and learn about its last resident, Alice “Elsie” Heard and her artwork.  Then, workshop participants will attempt to copy works from the exhibit, just as Elsie and other female artists of the 19th and 20th century copied the works of famous painters.

The New Exhibit: Lost Egypt: Ancient Secrets, Modern Science Opening May 27
On Sunday, May 27, the Museum of Science, Boston will present Lost Egypt: Ancient Secrets, Modern Science, a new, temporary exhibit that will provide visitors with an immersive quest for knowledge that reveals how archeologists use modern science and technology to uncover and understand the ancient civilization of Egypt. Through hands-on challenges, authentic artifacts, and guidance from real archeologists, visitors will unearth the mysteries of Egypt, its culture and its people.

The Peabody Essex Museum (PEM) celebrates the closing week of Santa at Salem Common with extended evening hours on Thursday, April 26, and Friday April 27. Join us from 5 to 9 pm for your last chance to experience the exhibition that critics are calling “one of the most thrilling shows you are likely to see this year.” Shapeshifting closes to the public on Sunday, April 29, after an exceptional run.

In this Museum of Science workshop hosted at the Ipswich Public Library, kids will learn about rocketry and payload science by doing. Attendees will engineer their own air rocket that will be launched across the room and design a payload return system that results in a safe return to Earth. Kids will use their imagination to plan, build, test and implement their designs.
