Get a jump start on your weekend with the Second Friday Program at the MIT Museum! Second Friday Programs are FREE and are oriented for open exploration with opportunities to attend performances, demonstrations, and lectures through out the museum galleries.
April 2012's Second Friday will be the public opening of the Museum's newest exhibit Rivers of Ice: Vanishing Glaciers of the Greater Himalayas. Find out what's happening to the glaciers of the Himalayas, their retreat, and the people who are studying them. Explore the exhibition with MIT faculty and staff knowledgeable about such topics as glaciology, water rights, geology, and then join a discussion about how your Museum exhibit experience was influenced by their scientific take.
Tours begin at 5:30. Discussion at 6pm.
