Nature Walks for Tots: Spring is on its Way!

Come see the signs of emerging Spring at Moseley Woods in Newburyport

As warmer temperatures tell us spring is coming, Miss Lisa wants you to join her for some family friendly nature walks. Let's explore the woods, the salt marsh, and the streams to look for creatures like birds, fish, frogs, and more while we learn, play, and explore. We'll use our "science eyes" and "nature ears" and discover wildife together!

Amesbury Public Library hosts a stuffy sleepover! Bring a stuffie to the Library in celebration of Spring! They will spend the night, have some fun, and you'll hear about it in the morning with a special note just to you as well photos of their time spent with other stuffie friends! Great for kids aged 0 - 10 years old!

Newburyport YWCA's Annual Triathlon is perfect for people of all skills.

Every body can do it... Join us for a fun start to Tri season. Celebrate the 10th annual ywca tri in partnership with the Tough Warrior Princesses and the North of Boston Cancer Resource.  This is a unique, mostly indoor event featuring a 10-minute swim in our indoor lap pool, a 25-minute cycle on a state of the art spin bike, and a 1.5 mile run outdoors on the picturesque Clipper City Rail Trail.  Create a team of friends or family!  One biker, one swimmer, one runner or any combination. Space is limited!

Ann McCrae has 30 + years of art teaching experience.

Local artist, storyteller and teacher Ann McCrea will help kids use modeling clay to sculpt a rabbit or coyote! CLAY♦WORKS combines the magic of storytelling with clay sculpting. The 70-minute CLAY•WORKS program teaches kids from 1st-6th grade [ages 5-11]. Sitting in a circle on the floor, Ann tells a story which evokes their interest and creativity.

Turn off your digital devices and bring the family to the library for no-screen

Is there too much screen time going on in your household? Coordinated Family & Community Engagement of Hamilton-Wenham presents and evening of fun with music by Peter Stewart, arts and crafts, activities for all ages and an opportunity to visit with representatives from local schools and community members at our first annual Brain Building in Progress Week Celebration! For ages 0-8 with caregiver, older siblings are welcome. The first 50 families in the door will get books and a gift bag.

Make It or Break It Club

The Make It or Break It Club meets every Friday afternoon at the CMNH

The Children's Museum of New Hampshire hosts the Make or Break it Club every Friday from 3:00-4:45 pm. Kids ages 6-12 are invited to drop in to try their hand at a variety of hands-on "making" experiences, using real tools and materials. No reservations are required and different experiences are offered each week. The cost is $8 per session for museum members and $10 for non-members. Multi-session punch cards are also available for kids who want to come each week.

Maritime Gloucester invites kids to a vacation week session where they'll make a 'Rube Goldberg' machine - part of a week full of educational sessions during February vacation! Cartoonist Rube Goldberg was known for drawing complex yet impractical machines, involving multiple steps to accomplish simple tasks.  After looking at Goldberg’s humorous comics for inspiration, students will engineer a Rube Goldberg machine.  Using marbles, Lego bricks, wooden blocks, dominoes, and much more, we’ll build and test intricate machines as we learn about energy, momentum, and engineering.
