Peabody Library's Creativity Lab

Peabody Library creativity lab is the perfect place for makers to collaborate!

Do you have a maker in your family?  Here is a wonderful resource right on the North Shore to facilitate their desire to create! The Peabody Institute Library has recently opened their new Creativity Lab that includes an array of tools that can be used to make and fabricate all kinds of projects.  From music to sewing to electronics, the Creativity Lab is a great place to come to collaborate with others, brainstorm, make and create!  Come visit the lab and nurture your desire to make something better with your own ideas, or to create something completely unique!

MDA 24 Hour Muscle Walk Challenge

Help support the MDA by sponsoring a walker at the Muscle Walk in Ipswich!

Join the fun while doing good at the 24 hour-long MDA Muscle Walk Challenge at Ken Spellman Track in Ipswich this this June! One of our friends, Deb LaFrance, will be walking the full 24 hour stint to raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, with a goal of $20,000. You can sponsor her, join her team or start a team of your own and compete with other teams to see who raises the most funds! Stars are born, live for eons, and explode in a colorful display of gas & light.

At this time of the year, the night sky is in transition. Although the winter constellations are still on prominent display, they are slowly making their way offstage to the west. Meanwhile, the stars of early spring are entering from the east. What causes this seasonal variation, what are some of the better known stars and constellations, and what celestial treasures are there for you to enjoy through a telescope? This evening's program is intended to help you find out.

Flock Your Friends FUNdraiser

Help the Manchester Mothers Club and add a little silly to somebody's day!

The Manchester Mothers Club has a great fundraiser going on all month long in the towns of Manchester, Beverly, Gloucester and Essex during April! For just $20 ($25 to remain anonymous) they will send a flock of pink flamingos to decorate the location of your choice for a day. This is a lot of fun and people (especially kids) really get a laugh over being flocked! Flock your friends, relatives, coworkers or anybody that you think needs a little silly fun in their day!

Ghostlight Chorus at Shalin Liu

Ghostlight Chorus will perfrom FREE at Rockport's Shalin Liu Performance Center!

Ghostlight Chorus is an exceptional 16-member chamber choir who performs a varied repertoire of sacred and secular a cappella compositions from the 16th to the 21st centuries. Their performances range from cathedrals to concert halls to the PS1 Benefit at MoMA New York to a live performance with the Rolling Stones. The performance will include Rockport High School Madrigals and Chorus.
