Meet the Lorax at Children's Museum of NH

Come to the Children's Museum of NH to meet Dr. Seuss' Lorax!

The Lorax, star of the Dr. Seuss book by the same name, will be visiting the Children’s Museum to greet young fans and help promote the love of reading.At the Books Alive event, museum staff will be reading “The Lorax” by beloved author Dr. Seuss throughout the day. The friendly costumed character Lorax will be popping in and out to greet children, exchange a hug or high-five, and pose for photos. There will also be a variety of Seuss-inspired literacy, math and creative activities for children in the museum’s large classroom.

There will be games and activities for all ages! Bring the family for a great day of fun, froth and food all set at the picturesque Cashman Park in a beautiful fall foliage setting.

Come see how baseball used to be played (circa 1860s) at Spencer Pierce Farm

It’s Base Ball, 1861 style at Spencer Peirce Little Farm! Teams playing today are The Newburyport Clamdiggers, Lynn Live Oaks, and Lowell Base Ball Club. These fun, historically accurate games feature underhand pitching and no gloves are allowed. A ball bounced once and caught is an out! Snacks, baseballs, and cards are available for purchase. Come and see for yourself how this game was played in the 1860's!

West Nile Virus hasd been found on Massachusetts' North Shore

It's official - West Nile Virus has made it to the North Shore.  Here's a run down on what you need to now, how to identify symptoms of infection what to do if you feel you have been infected. While no symptoms appear in most people infected with West Nile Virus, those that do show symptoms could be in serious jeopardy. West Nile virus is spread by mosquitos that host the virus, so your best bet to avoid infection is to prevention.  There is currently no vaccine for the virus.

Chess Instruction at Abbot Library

Kids can play clocked chess matches against each other each Wednesday at the Abbot Public Library in Marblehead Massachusetts
