The Gloucester Area Astronomy Club hosts the monthly meeting in Lanesville, North of Gloucester Massachusetts! We haven’t seen the usual summer planets in our evening skies yet this year, but Jupiter and Saturn rise earlier every night, and along with Uranus they’ll be visible during more convenient evening hours this fall.
Enjoy a beautiful night on at the ocean's edge at the Plum Island Beach parking lot converted into a 'Drive-in'. Grab your friends or family, jump in the car and head over to Plum Island for a weekend of drive-in movies! All proceeds to benefit the Newburyport Youth Services scholarship funds. Bring your lawn chairs and picnic blankets for a perfect wood-fired pizza experience surrounded by the idyllic beauty of Appleton Farms. The menu will change weekly, featuring local and seasonal ingredients, including produce from our own farm. Pizza varieties will include cheese, meat and seasonal veggie, with other options available such as artisan pastries, seasonal salads and lighter fare.
Please join Keep Beverly Beautiful for an organized volunteer-led downtown litter clean-up. We will meet at the Judson Street side of the Cabot Theatre at 9:00am. We have trash bags and adult-sized gloves to share, and usually pick up litter for about an hour. We appreciate your help keeping our city clean!
What kinds of fascinating creatures live in or visit the ponds? Come and visit with the Park Interpreter to see if any creatures are stirring, and if any plants are flowering. Best for ages pre-K and up. This is a great family activity. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
As part of COASTSWEEP Beach Cleanup, volunteers are encouraged to come to Dane Street Beach to help in the statewide effort to keep our coastline clean along the shore in Salem Massachusetts. Trash collected will be measured and analyzed, and the data will be sent to Washington DC to aid the government in creating legislation to minimize trash in our oceans! This specific cleanup is coordinated by Salem Sound Coastwatch. Donations collected at the Festival are reinvested back into the Park.

Join park rangers from the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge and paddling guides along the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge water trail to experience this unique habitat and the species that call it home. This program is free and all gear will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own equipment!
