Curious about kayaking, but not sure where to start? Want to spot some interesting wildlife, but don’t consider yourself an outdoorsy person? Join the Ipswich River Watershed Association (IRWA) and Mass Audubon’s Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary for a birding excursion on the river!
A free youth fitness class run by Beverly High School volunteers. Children are welcome to attend any number of the classes. Growing Strong is a new, free, youth program that aims to provide a welcoming, social environment for children to begin a healthy lifestyle. Fitness is so important, especially for young children. It not only benefits a child’s overall physical health but also improves self esteem, concentration and decreases stress.
Join Trustees staff from Appleton Farms and the Ipswich River Watershed Association for a fun and adventurous hike and paddle excursion. We’ll meet at the farm and hike over to the headquarters of IRWA, right on the Ipswich River. IRWA staff will help us get into canoes and kayaks then lead a trip down the river, into downtown Ipswich and back. This unique experience will be a wonderful way to explore the natural surroundings of Ipswich, over both land and water.
Did you know that in 2021 the Ipswich River was named one of America’s Most Endangered Rivers® ? Learn about the work we do to get our river off of that list and paddle to downtown Ipswich and back. Through restoration projects like dam removal and invasive species management, to advocacy work around water conservation – we have the solutions to ensure a bright future for our river. Join us on this paddle to witness this precious resource first-hand and learn more about what it takes to get our river off the endangered list. Join Yankee Homecoming at the Nock Middle School as we start off our Super Saturday with good family fun! Many local businesses, organizations and non-profits take part in our Family Day fun offering free crafts, games, activities and handouts. Sit down for some lunch and listen to the band playing on the main stage or watch one of the performances taking part throughout the park.
Pickleball is a great game embodies a little bit of Tennis, racquetball and ping pong in an easy to learn fun to play sport. This year's Pickleball Event will be held at Obear Park in Beverly. Must preregister to enter. Space is limited.

Come to Spencer Peirce Little Farm for the Ipswich Harvest Fest! Come enjoy live music by the Orville Giddings Band, delicious BBQ, & Vintage Base Ball with 1860's rules! As if that's not enough to be excited about, this year we are pleased to announce that the festival will be complete with all new kids activities and a bouncy house! So brings the kids (and the dog!) down to the farm for a day and fall fun!

Parker River National Wildlife Refuge invites people of all ages to celebrate Endangered Species Day on Sunday May 19th from 12pm-3pm at the Refuge Visitor Center. Endangered Species Day was designated to educate the American public on the importance of protecting endangered species and highlight the everyday actions that individuals can take to help protect our nation’s wildlife, fish, and plants.
