Greet the goats, make a wool bracelet, cuddle a calf, farm story time, collect chicken eggs and more! In between activities hang out in the Carriage Barn and explore our all-day learning stations or picnic outside in the Stone Paddock!
Come to Appleton Farms for this very special workshop with chef Carolyn Grieco as we explore the wonderful world of ancient grains and how to incorporate them in your daily cooking. Locally grown and milled grains are popping up everywhere and their culinary popularity continues to grow. We’ll explore many different varieties of grains along with their flavor & texture profiles, nutritional benefits, and how to handle them in the kitchen. We’ll prepare unique recipes incorporating some of these grains, and enjoy a wonderful dinner at the end of the evening. Class includes hands-on cooking with professional chef instruction and printed recipes. BYBO beer & wine allowed.

You’ll get to help care for our animals, learn to grow and eat farm fresh food, create natural crafts, and explore the farm as it wakes up to spring! Your little farmers will come home with stories of adventure, a deeper understanding of where their food comes from, a sense of responsibility, and memories made with new friends. This session will focus on Appleton Farm's dairy operations.

Each workshop will focus in-depth on a particular skill set, with guided hands-on practice as we prepare seasonal dishes applying specific techniques. Proper knife skills, measuring, and kitchen tools will also be discussed, and all workshops include chef instruction, printed recipes, and a light lunch in the farmhouse!
