Mother's Day at Appleton Farm

Mother's Day fun for NorthShore Families

Join us this Mother’s Day for an adventure with the classic characters from Beatrix Potter! Bring the whole family to enjoy a morning with the mischievous Peter Rabbit and his friends!

Attendees will explore the farm and meet some of the classic characters such as; Peter Rabbit, Squirrel Nutkin, Johnny Town Mouse, Tom Kitten and more! Visit Mr. McGregor’s garden, Mrs. Tiggy Winkle’s kitchen, Jemima Puddle Duck’s nest and Hunca Munca’s doll house.  After your adventure, join us in the Carriage Barn for light refreshments and meet our farm animals in the barnyard.  Kids will also make a beautiful potted lettuce garden inspired by Peter Rabbit as a gift for mom!

Meet the Lambs Day at Green Meadows Farm

Green Meadows Farm invites families to Meet the Lambs Day!

You do not have access to view this node invites families to meet their volunteer workers at the farm - the lambs! They don't get paid for what they do, but they do lots of work at GMF. They arrived a couple weeks ago and have been dutifully eating the winter rye in the front field. Converting plant material into manure just where we need it is an invaluable job. They also happen to be terribly cute, so that helps. Come and meet them officially during Meet the Lambs Day. There will be a craft in the Farmstand and Mrs. Green will be on hand to talk about the sheepies out in the field.

American Chunker Show at Marini Farm

Marini Farm hosts a fun evening with American Chunker and Captain Dave Marciano of Wicked Tuna fame! Marini Farms is the area’s premier farm and event attraction for family oriented fall activities.  In addition to their award winning farm stand and bakery, they have attractions to satisfy families and children of all ages.  There's an 8-acre world class corn maze, they also have a jumping pillow, 60 ft tube slide, bounce houses, hayrides, pick your own pumpkin patch, pedal cart track, rope maze, face painting, corn kernel silo, rubber duck races, play structures, sandcastles, and more!

Butter in the Barnyard

Butter in the Barnyard is for families and children 2-7 to meet our dairy herd at Appleton Farms.

Everyone loves rich and creamy butter, but have you ever discovered where butter begins?  Join us for a guided stroll around the farm learning all about our dairy, explore the milking parlor, enjoy a calf close encounter and end with butter making in the Carriage Barn. Recommended for ages 2-7.  Pre-registration is required as we can not accommodate a large group with drop-ins for this program. Registration is by the family- if you have 6 or more in your family, please register 2 families as we want to have enough butter ingredients for all. This program meets in our Carriage Barn. Parking is available at the Visitor Center.
