Whether you're a painting beginner or a pro, join us to appreciate just how beautiful winter can be by painting winter scenes with watercolors. Local artist and Refuge volunteer Patricia Lane Evans will teach participants techniques on how to paint snowy landscapes and how to frame a scene. We'll also have time to make creative watercolor Valentines Day themed cards! All ages welcome, and materials will be provided.

Wetlands are home to many fascinating creatures, including some unique mammals. While visiting the numerous wetlands on the sanctuary, we will explore active and abandoned beaver lodges, scan the marshes for signs of muskrats, and search for signs of otter activity. With a little luck, we may see some of these mammals making their final preparations for winter.

Join the Newburyport Education Foundation for their Lighthouse Auction to raise funds that will go to enhance the quality of public education in the Newburyport School District. This auction is the biggest fundraiser of the year for NEF, raising over $100,000! Learn some of our tips and tricks to putting together a low stress, diverse and delicious cookie box, including recipe selection to baking schedules. And what’s a cookie class without the cookies?! Help us bake and decorate a farmhouse favorite, with a few twists and a small box to take home to a loved one (or tell no one and polish it off on your car ride home…) BYOB
