Creative Salem and Phoenix School, Salem MA host the

Salem will be getting all sorts of adorable and spooky as Creative Salem and Phoenix School host the Wicked Wednesday Children's Costume Parade & Party in Downtown Salem. The parade will start at Riley Plaza and will head up Washington St. to Lappin Park and then head down the Pedestrian Mall to the fountain stage where the kids will have a dance and costume party. At the stage, there will be kids music and performances by some character actors featuring popular costumed character personalities and more.

The Great House at Castle Hill is open for tours on Columbus Day. Grab the family and take the Guest of the Cranes tour on the hour and our roof tour, Cupola with a View, at 11:30 AM and 1:30PM. Edward Speck and Joshua Shack bring back a favorite TITO Holiday Panto. We’ve updated our version of this classic fairy tale, added a holiday spin, plenty of adorable mice and even a few playful clowns to lead audiences on an enchanted adventure. A Jack and the Beanstalk Panto!

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, it’s time one again for our Spring Pantomime! This time around we’ll be following the (mis)adventures of Jack and friends as they take the path much less traveled by, and learn some valuable lessons along the way…!!! Edward Speck and Josh Shack have planned another silly, playful Spring Panto that's full of surprises. Follow the Theater in the Open flags from the Maudslay parking lot. Allow ten minutes to stroll to the site and $5 for parking ($6 for out of state vehicles).

A Friday for Fireflies

Hunt for fireflies with the Trustees at the Crane Estate in Ipswich Massachusetts!

An evening adventure for the whole family! Join us for a hike down the Cedar Point trail to the Pine Grove. We’ll look for the flash of fireflies in the fields that stretch to the marsh, along the fringes of the woods that line the trail to the Pine Grove, and in the dark of the Pine Grove itself. Did you know that different species of fireflies have different flash patterns? We’ll try to differentiate between our bioluminescent buddies and count how many different species of fireflies live around the Crane Estate. We’ll finish our evening observations with s’mores around a campfire in the Pine Grove!
