YWCA Screening of Dawnland

YWCA Newburyport observes Martin Luther King Day with a screening of Dawnland.

Join the Newburyport YWCA for screening of Dawnland, as part of their Martin Luther King Day observances. At our annual Martin Luther King, Jr. event we will be screening the film Dawnland, “a documentary about cultural survival and stolen children: the first truth and reconciliation commission for Native Americans.” Following the screening there will be a question and answer period with Mishy Lesser, Learning Director for the Upstanding Project. A light dinner and dessert will be served.

This old-fashioned church fair will feature Christmas handcrafts,holiday decorations, plants, baked goods, coffee and doughnuts, cabot cheese and Zeke’s Country Store books, attic treasures (yard sale), raffle table, silent auction, and more. A home style lunch will be served at 11 am to 1 pm where Santa will make his special appearance. Following the fair, there will be  a spaghetti supper running from 5-7  pm.
