World Fish Migration Day in Rockport

Eels travel 1000's of miles to spawn at Millbrook Park in Rockport

The public will be introduced to the eels of Millbrook, the site of Rockport’s first European-American residents and the center of their early industry. With the help of the Millbrook Meadow Conservancy and Rockport High School students, Eric Hutchins, of the NOAA Fisheries Restoration Center, will provide a tour of Rockport, Massachusett's historic Millbrook.

A Petting Zoo of Musical Instruments

Experience an “Instrument Petting Zoo” and get a chance to learn first-hand about a variety of instruments at Shalin Liu Performance Center! The Instrument Petting Zoo is an opportunity for curious kids & adults to see, hear, and touch the instruments seen on the stage at the Shalin Liu Performance Center and instruments they may play in beginning band or orchestra.

Old Time Carnival

Old time Carnival in Rockport MA, Cape Ann

On Sunday, June 8, Sandy Bay Preschool is hosting Old Time Carnival at Millbrook Meadow on Sunday, June 8, 2014.

This family event will entertain kids of all ages with bouncy ball races, juggling, big ball croquet, Hula hoop contests, a balloon artist, and many more fun carnival activities.

Ghostlight Chorus at Shalin Liu

Ghostlight Chorus will perfrom FREE at Rockport's Shalin Liu Performance Center!

Ghostlight Chorus is an exceptional 16-member chamber choir who performs a varied repertoire of sacred and secular a cappella compositions from the 16th to the 21st centuries. Their performances range from cathedrals to concert halls to the PS1 Benefit at MoMA New York to a live performance with the Rolling Stones. The performance will include Rockport High School Madrigals and Chorus.

Shalin Liu Performance Center invites you to a FREE concert at their Shalin Liu Center on Motif #1 Day! Created in 2010, the Wenham Street Brass is a trio of young professionals dedicated to engaging audiences through performance and education. They are the ensemble-in-residence for A Street Music Education, a music school in Quincy, MA.

Rockport musics presents young composer/musicians Szilvia Miko and Matthew Wooda

Rockport Music hosts two young composer/musicians for a FREE recital at their beautiful waterfront performing arts center in Rockport Massachusetts! Szilvia Mikó and Matthew Woodard are young musicians/composers who will perform works by Beethoven, Copland, Khachaturian, Howard Frazin, as well as compositions of their own.

The Classical Jam Quintet will perform a FREE concert at the Sahlin Liu Rockport

Note: Due to the impending snow storm, this performance has been rescheduled for Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 8:30pm. Classical Jam will perform a multimedia presentation with music from Brahms to the present accompanied by videos--featuring films by Buster Keaton, former Rockport resident Danny Williams (as well as a colleague of Andy Warhol in the Velvet Underground era), and one by Rockport students.

Join the Fun with Rockport High School's 'Are you smarter than a highschooler?'

Rockport Residents and visitors alike are invited to the Rockport High School chapter of the National Honor Society production of "Are You Smarter than a High Schooler?". The game show will take place at the Shalin Liu Performance Center on Wednesday, January 29th at 7 p.m. All proceeds from the show will benefit the Oncology Unit at Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester.
