Waldorf School at Moraine Farm Celebrates 30 Years of Building Character. Honorary Chairman Congressman Seth Moulton and Board of Trustees cordially invite you to join in the fun for the 30th Anniversary Spring Soiree. Kids are invited to spend April Vacation at Glen Urquhart School. Children of all ages will enjoy the fun-filled days of games and outdoor exploration, including nature activities, field games, and campfire cooking. Each day kids will enjoy the spacious GUS Greenhouse for indoor activities. Participants should bring a bag lunch; GUS will provide snacks and an exciting and entertaining program.

Have you ever wanted to design your own game? Join Green Door Labs founder Kellian Adams and museum staff to plan and create a digital game set inside the museum. You will work in small groups to invent a game designed to help visitors explore the museum. After prototyping the concept on paper, you will build the game on the digital platform and test it with real museum visitors. The best games have the opportunity to be featured in the museum.

Plant flowers, trees and learn about recycling and energy conservation through different projects around the school. Attorney General Maura Healey Helps Educate Families About Their Higher Education Options and Understand How to Pay for Them.
As colleges and universities begin sending financial aid award letters to prospective students throughout Massachusetts, Attorney General Maura Healey has launched a campaign to help educate families about their higher education options and understand how to pay for them.
Last year, the AG’s Office and the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce created a Student Debt Working Group to develop concrete proposals to help Massachusetts students pursue quality, affordable higher education. This new initiative is the result of a partnership between the AG’s Office and uAspire – a Working Group member and nonprofit organization that provides students with counseling and tools to find an affordable path to and through college.
Why Mindfulness Matters in Education
Research has proven that practicing mindfulness-based meditation and yoga in the classroom improves students’ focused attention and self-awareness, which contribute to academic success. Mindfulness-based practices also offer measurable health benefits and can reduce anxiety and depression. These valuable activities have become part of the daily routine in the second grade at Glen Urquhart School. Every day, after morning meeting, second graders move through yoga sequences, usually led by one of the students. They end each day with a three to seven minute guided meditation, also often student led.

In her one-hour presentation, award-winning filmmaker, journalist, and Executive Director of MEDIAGIRLS, Michelle Cove, will share with parents how and why mainstream media pushes this story of perfect, and what we as parents and educators can do to help our kids strike back.

Waldorf School at Moraine Farm presents a lecutre by Kim John Payne based on his book The Soul of Discipline. The Simplicity Parenting Approach to Warm, Firm, and Calm Guidance - from Toddlers to Teens.
On Tuesday, March 21, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm., Kim John Payne will lead a lecture entitled Discipline: Raising Respectful Children in a Disrespectful World, hosted by Waldorf School at Moraine Farm.
The lecture, based on Kim John Payne’s book, The Soul of Discipline, will explore how to set firm but loving limits that expand as a child grows from toddler to teen. Kim will offer strategies that parents and educators can use at home and in the classroom.
Registration is open to the public for a fee of $10.
