A Far Cry presents their present first ever family concert, "Rhythms of the Day" at the Shalin Liu Performance Center in Rockport Massachusetts. Called a “world-wide phenomenon” by Boston’s WBUR, the Grammy-nominated A Far Cry stands at the forefront of an exciting new generation in classical music. Bring the young people in your life to experience musical depictions of waking up, mealtime, wild adventures, slumber, and more. Designed for kids under 10 but enjoyable for all ages. One-hour, free concert - no tickets required.

There's something about music that speaks to us. It changes our lives in ways nothing else can. Around 4th grade, it is customary for Rockport Schools to hold an instrument trial day. Some students instantly fall in love with an instrument, but then financials come into play when trying to get the child that instrument. The reality is that some families can't afford to pay the expense for the instrument.
Enjoy a guided tour of Halibut Point State Park around the Babson Farm Quarry, unearthing the granite industry era followed by a traditional hand-tool stone splitting demonstration. One hundred years ago, the Rockport Granite Company quarried granite stone here. Learn about the buildings, bridges, and breakwaters built to last. Touch tools of the trade.
