Ipswich Museum hosts a a wire sculpting workshop. Learn the basics of working with this fun and simple medium with professional award winning artist Ryan Kelley. Teen and adult students will create mixed media sculptures with wire and found objects while learning to work with their hands in our 3D world!
Bring home a baby doll for your little one - handmade by you! Be creative, be inspired by Elizabeth Stubbs, a Waldorf early childhood teacher and artist, and other doll makers in training. Dolls are made from all natural materials, sweet, lightweight, and oh so soft for hugging. Basic sewing skills are all you need for this workshop. $35 workshop fee includes hands-on instruction and materials to make the doll. Fun, good conversation and refreshments are part of this gathering, too. The workshop will take place at the Gatehouse. Limited to 12 attendees, register soon! Adults only.
Warmer spring weather means its sheep shearing time on the farm. But what to do with all that wool? Learn about the time honored tradition of wool felting. We’ll start by learning how to “card” the raw wool into soft fiber for spinning or felting. Afterwards, we’ll try our hand making twisted wool bracelets and felt balls to be used for farm-fun necklaces. Wool, wood beads and decorative string will be provided, but feel free to bring anything special of your own to add to your necklace. Afterwards meet our three woolly sheep and feed them a snack! Recommended for ages 6-9 but all are welcome.
Friday afternoons are a great time for families to drop-by fand enjoy Open Studio at Art Haven. Participate in a fun activity and access to the studio space to work on clay, painting, drawing or anything else you dream up. All ages are welcome with a parent.

Manchester Public Library Seaside Knitwits are knitting and crocheting hats for Boston children (sizes infant through 18 years old) in need finishing and packing on November 4th, at 4 PM.
Seaside Knitwits is the recently, and loosely formed, Manchester Public Library group that is anyone interested in helping with this endeavor. All hats will be packed to be mailed at this November meeting, in plenty of time for the Caps for Beantown (a registered 501c3 group) to receive and distribute in time for cold weather.

Spring is coming! Did you know that in many cultures all over the world, spring is celebrated with colored eggs? Join us to celebrate on Saturday, March 14, from 9:30am - 12:30pm. We will needle felt colorful eggs using soft, unspun wool fleece. Elizabeth Stubbs, a Waldorf early childhood teacher and artist will provide gentle, hands-on guidance to attendees. All skill levels welcome. $40 workshop fee includes instruction and materials and everyone will bring home at least 3 beautiful eggs. This workshop will take place at Waldorf School at Moraine Farm. Join us at the Warm Weather Seedling Sale to pick up your fruiting veggie seedlings! We'll have a wide range of organically-grown seedlings from our friends at Cedar Rock Gardens available for purchase. These seedlings thrive in the warmer weather and include bell peppers, tomatoes, eggplants and basil.
Today we'll learn about one of nature's tastiest treats: maple syrup. We'll discover how to distinguish a sugar maple from all the other trees in the forest and tap one to collect the sap. After a visit to the sugarhouse, we'll know how sap is converted into syrup and try some on our very own pancakes. We'll see who can tell the difference between store-bought syrup and the real stuff!
The Stage 284 offers a fun filled vacation week of training: acting, voice, and movement for kids ages 7-15. Our top-notch team incorporates acting, singing and dance training, blocking and theater terminology into each workshop developing the skills necessary to succeed on stage in our Youth Company or Main Stage Programs.
