Groundwork Lawrence hosts three farmer's markets per week because fruits and vegetables grown locally are best for you, your health, and your family's health, because it supports local businesses, keeps money in our community, and is the best for the environment. Come and support your local farmers, to get fresh products, and connect with your neighbors.
The Magnolia Community Farmer’s Market will reopen in June of 2019 with a new line up of vendors, followers, entertainment and community purpose. We hope to offer favorite flavors, produce and products, created and operated by local vendors, crafters, artisans, farmers, purveyors, bakers, and chefs. Our dedicated team will strive to provide the very best in local goods while creating a new avenue to give back to our community. Funds raised by the MCFM will directly benefit the enrichment of Magnolia.
The soil in the garden has barely been turned and already the first sign of Summer has appeared. Strawberries! With Strawberries comes the Topsfield Historical Society's 50th Strawberry Festival and Craft Fair in early June which offers a spectacle of strawberry fun for each and every one. The Strawberry Festival and Craft Fair, one of the best in the region, celebrates the region's rich agricultural heritage.
The Rowley Farmers Market is an open air market held on Sundays on the Rowley Town Common. There's always a great selection of fresh local produce, food stuffs and locally hand-made goods. Come pick up some great locally grown food, freshly baked bread by Faith Anne's Unique bread, specialty teas and herbals by Dawn's Herbal, locally made yarn from Spin a Yarn Farms, locally made maple syrup and honey from local bee keepers.
The Andover Farmers' Market offers educational programming and promotes healthy eating, local economies, sustainability, and community spirit by providing fresh, local produce, baked and prepared foods, as well as hand-crafted goods. At the Andover Farmers’ Market pick up fresh, local, and healthy produce as well as homemade baked goods, including breads, pastries, cookies, and more!
At the Cape Ann Farmers' Market you'll find plenty of farm-fresh produce, meat & local seafood, as well as lots of fun stuff for the entire family. There are activities like finger painting for the kids and cooking demonstrations for “Top Chef” wanna-bes, and melt-in-your-mouth local gelato.
Join the fun in the 4th annual 5K Freedom Run & 1 mile Walk to raise money for Stepping Stones for Stella. 100% of the event proceeds are allocated to the production and shipment of Buggies to families across the country. This 5K flat/fast course will start and finish at the Temple Emanu-EL in Marblehead.
The 1st LT Derek Hines Soldiers Assistance Fund is hosting the 7th Annual Flag Day 5K road race. The 5K walk, run, or jog will go through the beautiful town of Newburyport, Massachusetts. We will be going back to Cashman Park for our registration and post race reception that will include live music from Dalton and the Sherrif's, food and drinks for all! Funds raise will go to benefit Massachusetts soldiers (and their families) through Run to Home Base.
This summer, the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) Greater Newburyport Kids Ride will be one of many PMC Kids Rides throughout New England and beyond. Come join the fun, camaraderie and inspiration at the PMC Greater Newburyport Kids Ride as kids ages 3-13 ride the Clipper City Rail Trail or a tricycle obstacle course at Cashman Park to raise money for Dana Farber Cancer Institute’s Jimmy Fund. Many kids, many bikes, one mission…cure cancer! Refreshments, entertainment and fun! Pre-register online or on site!
Congratulations: you are pregnant! This class is for mothers and partners during the last trimester of pregnancy to learn skills needed for the childbirth experience such as breathing methods, relaxation techniques, and comfort measures.
Topics covered include:
- Labor & delivery
- Anesthesia and medications
- Cesarean section
- Immediate post-delivery period
- Newborn baby care
A tour of the Birth Center at Anna Jaques Hospital is included in the class.
Fee for the class (both the all-day workshop and online class) is $150 for Women's Health Care patients and $200 for non-WHC patients. Class fee covers both mother & support person.
Classes are available in two formats to fit your family's needs:
- All-day workshop: Saturdays from 10:00am-5:00pm in the Higgins Conference Room at Anna Jaques.
- Online Combo: Sundays from 9:00am-12:00pm (Online course with 3-hour on-site learning).
