Peabody Celebrates Memorial Day by remembering fallen veterans with services, a parade and a ceremony at the Peabody City Hall.  A service will be held at 9am the Cedar Grove Cemetary followed by a parade at 11 am.  Parade begins on Washington Street at the corner of Hourihan Street and ends at City Hall, where there will be a wreath-laying ceremony in front of the World War I, World War II, Korean and Vietnam war monuments. The parade marches back to the VFW where a collation will be held.

Meet children's author April Jones Prince as she reads from her book, What Do Wheels Do All Day? [Illustrated by Giles LaRoche]. Free and open to the public, this program is designed for toddlers through age six and their caregivers. Enjoy an art project and other interactive activities relating to the book, followed by a book signing and snack. For more information and to RSVP online, visit the website or call.

Children with special needs and their families are invited to a special photo session with Caring Santa in an environment set up to support the sensory, physical and other developmental needs of children with all abilities. The staff at the McVann-O'Keefe Skating Rink in Peabody is proud to host a Halloween-themed event full of fun for kids of all ages. Do the Monster Mash on Sunday, October 28th, 2012 from 2:10 p.m. - 3:40 p.m. Be sure to wear your best costume as prizes will be awarded. Enjoy fun with activities like face-painting & skating to festive Halloween music, and of course, candy.

The Children’s Program will visit the Peabody Institute Library to present a ballet story on April 12 at 10:00am. This year’s ballet is a child-friendly version of Don Quixote. After the story has been read, children in attendance will able to view Boston Ballet costumes, pointe shoes, and tiaras. The event will end with a dance lesson from Boston Ballet School staff to music excerpts from the Don Quixote score. This is a free event that is open to the public.

The Northshore Holiday Gift & Craft Fair will showcase the work of local and regional artists, crafters and retailers including jewelry designers, wearable arts, tasty treats and more!
