Museum of Fine Arts Playdates

Bring your toddler to enjoy story time and looking activities in the galleries, followed by art making. Tours leave on a rolling basis starting at 10:15 am. The last tour leaves at 10:55 am. Peabody Essex Museum invites kids to take a journey into space as we read Tanner Turbeyfill and the Moon Rocks by Anna Browning. View a real moon rock collected by NASA in our exhibition Lunar Attraction. Join others to make a moon rock through clay marbling and design a rock sample box to take home.

Halloween Family Fun Free-for-All

Dress up the Kids and head over to Joppa Flats Education Center for Halloween

Get into the Halloween spirit! Examine live creepy crawlies, enjoy (semi) spooky attractions, and take home creative crafts. For ages 7 and up, explore a “crime scene” and perform a series of forensic investigations (e.g., soil sample comparisons, water sampling, chromatography, pH tests, and track identification) to solve the mystery and pinpoint the culprit. For ages 2 to 6, there will be stories and songs, silly and festive crafts, and a kooky treasure hunt. Family presentations will be offered at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. Fly in on your broom for an hour or stay all day for some fun pre-Halloween family time!

Clayworks with Ann McCrea

Ann McCrae has 30 + years of art teaching experience.

Local artist, storyteller and teacher Ann McCrea will help kids use modeling clay to sculpt a rabbit or coyote! CLAY♦WORKS combines the magic of storytelling with clay sculpting. The 70-minute CLAY•WORKS program teaches kids from 1st-6th grade [ages 5-11]. Sitting in a circle on the floor, Ann tells a story which evokes their interest and creativity.

Make It or Break It Club

The Make It or Break It Club meets every Friday afternoon at the CMNH

The Children's Museum of New Hampshire hosts the Make or Break it Club every Friday from 3:00-4:45 pm. Kids ages 6-12 are invited to drop in to try their hand at a variety of hands-on "making" experiences, using real tools and materials. No reservations are required and different experiences are offered each week. The cost is $8 per session for museum members and $10 for non-members. Multi-session punch cards are also available for kids who want to come each week.
