Join The Trustees of Reservations at the Stevens-Coolidge House & Gardens for Halloween fun! The gardens have transformed in to our Ghoulish Gardens! Take a walk through the meadow to read our Story Stroll brought to you by the Stevens Memorial Library. Then, hunt down the hidden pumpkins throughout the rest of the property to win a prize at the end.

Experience the lifestyle and the occupations of those living in Essex County from the early 1600’s through the early 1900’s. Step back in time with the Georgetown Historical Society at our open house of the Brocklebank, Nelson, Beecher house and grounds. Tour our historic home, kitchen door gardens and historic fruit tree varieties’.
Come explore what nature has in store at some of our most amazing wild places on the North Shore. Joppa Flats' engaging and experienced staff will introduce families to local beaches, forests, and wetlands to make observations in nature, identify wildlife, and enjoy hands on science activities outdoors. Miss Lisa invites you to join her for some family-friendly seasonal nature walks in the area. Together we will explore the salt marsh, the woods, and more. We will look for birds, mammals, and of course, mushrooms! We'll use our "science eyes" and "nature ears" and learn, play, and discover together. Some mammals store food, grow thicker fur, and make dens or burrows in winter. Let's find out which animals are active and look for their tracks in the snow!
We'll be celebrating our unique farm history and all things dairy during a Sunday, June 17, Open House event. This “farm-tastic” occasion will highlight the recently completed dairy store and dairy plant as well as the opening of the new visitor center.
Spring is a time of renewal and excitement at Appleton Farms! Join us to celebrate, explore, and engage with our animals and gardens as you “hop” along the farmyard to different interactive learning stations. From planting seeds into soil pots, transplanting seedlings into the ground, feeding our Angora bunnies, felting small eggs, and brushing the goats, your child will be immersed in the Springtime activities of the farm. Collect an egg stamp at each station and take your fully-stamped Trail Hop “passport” to the Farmhouse Cafe to collect your special treat!
Rumor is that some dinosaur eggs have made their way into the Children’s Room! Join us in hunting them down! Then stick around for a story & craft. No registration is required. All ages are welcome to join us, but the hunt and craft are suitable for ages 3+

With craft activities, games, story times, and scavenger hunts to take with you on the trail, we have all you need to create a memorable nature adventure fit for the whole family.
