Cape Ann Businesswomen's Fall Luncheon

Actor Lindsay Crouse is the Cape Ann Businesswomen's Luncheon keynote speaker in 2019

This year, the Cape Ann Businesswomen's Luncheon is proud to host  Keynote speaker Lindsay Crouse. Lindsay is an award-winning veteran of stage and screen. Her credentials spans a whole range of venues from broadway, to TV to Hollywood. Some of Lindsay’s best known films include All The President’s Men, Slapshot, House of Games, The Verdict, The Insider, Mr. Brooks, Indian in the Cupboard, Prince of the City, Daniel, and Places in the Heart, for which she received an Academy Award nomination.

Ever wanted to try your hand at surfcasting from the Plum Island beach? Come join two local experts as they discuss the basics you’ll need to get started (or improve!). Topics will include what gear you will need, what to use for bait and lures, how to find a spot that may hold fish, and the best tides and times to go.

Join us as we paddle through the winding backwaters at IRWS with the family

Explore the Ipswich River at dusk. Bring your family and join us for an evening paddle in a canoe as we learn more about the river and some of its inhabitants. Being on the water is one of the best ways to explore and discover the wonders of wetlands. We will paddle through the winding backwaters lined with cattails and other marsh plants, looking for hidden wildlife. Using buckets and strainers, we'll stop and sample the rich aquatic life to learn more about what lives under the water.

At ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary we'll look and listen for owls as we paddle

Explore the Ipswich River at dusk. Bring your family and join us for an evening paddle in a canoe as we learn more about the river and some of its inhabitants. Many kinds of owls "call in the night" with their hoots and screams as the sun begins to fade. As we paddle along, we'll look and listen for owls, talk about the types of owls we're likely to find at this time of year, and do some hooting ourselves.

Join us as we look for these elusive mammals and discover some of the clues they leave behind as we make our way along the Ipswich River.

Bring your toddler to Cape Ann Museum on the second Thursday of each month from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. for Young at Art, a gallery-based storytime! Recommended for children ages 4 and younger with an adult. This drop-in program is free for members or with Museum admission. Family Paddle the Ipswich River

North Shore Nature Programs invites you to a free session of paddling along the Ipswich River!

Join us for a relaxing evening paddle on the Ipswich River. The Ipswich River Watershed Association will lend us canoes for the evening as we explore the lower reaches of the river. We can expect to see a wide variety of birds as well as turtles, fish, and perhaps otters! No prior canoeing experience required.
