MITxplore's Sunday Sessions

kids will learn about math in a different light at MITxplore programs.

MITxplore's Sunday Sessions are returning for the spring! Sessions will begin on February 21, 2016 at 1PM, and hold 10 sessions between then and the end of May. For those of you who are new to the program, MITxplore has the goal of teaching children between 4th and 6th grades interesting and unusual math topics typically not covered in the standard school curriculum.

Come to  the Dolan Performing Arts Center for a speical FREE screening of 'Most Likely to Succeed', a film about modern education and paving a way for students to thrive in the world of the future. The film inspires its audiences with a sense of purpose and possibility, and is bringing school communities together in re-imagining what students and teachers are capable of doing. After seeing this film, you’ll never look at school the same way again. A panel discussion will follow the film.

Girls Inc. of the Seacoast Area is pleased to offer its first STEM program (Science Technology Engineering Math) for girls in grades 5 and 6 as we inspire all girls to be strong, smart and bold! Girls must attend all 3 days of thei Febraury Vacation workshop, where participants will nurture their interests in any or all of the STEM subjects - Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics.  Preregistration and a signed permission slip is required for this FREE program.

Don't have snowshoes? We provide snowshoes, snowshoe poles and professional instruction on proper use of equipment, to make every trip a success.

Spend a cozy evening with your sweetheart on the farm cooking up a delicious meal. Professional chef-instructor Carolyn Grieco will lead the class through the making of an intimate multi-course dinner in the state-of-the-art farm kitchen. Culinary tips and techniques will be covered as we prepare our dinner followed by a relaxing meal in the farmhouse dining room. Printed recipe booklet and indulgent chocolate take-treats to savor later! BYOB wine, champagne and beer is allowed.

Fun with Fiber Arts

Kids will learn about textile and fiber craftsmanship at Spencer Pierce Little F

Kids in grades 2-6 are invited to Spencer Peirce Little Farm to learn about textile artisanry! These monthly sessions are for students who are interested in or already working with fiber. Participants learn hand sewing, weaving, felting, knitting, dying wool, and carding/spinning wool from featured guest artists. All crafts and completed projects are taken home. Students also learn how to use a sewing machine.

Wee Ones Paddle

Teach the little ones the joy of canoeing at Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary!

The Ipswich River is the perfect river to start your children canoeing. We'll pair up two adults and two children per canoe and take a leisurely paddle up the river. We'll stop off in one of the backwater areas and do some dipping in the river to observe up close the creatures under the surface. On our return, we'll enjoy a snack at the canoe landing and talk about what we discovered. Bring a blanket and we'll provide a sweet treat.
